Foreword “Such a work is never actually finished – one must simply declare it to be finished once one has done as much as possible given the time and circumstances.“ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749 – 1832) Welcome to the ultimate omnibus experience! Travel back in time to Berlin in the 80s and early 90s! In times of change that apart from the Fall of the Berlin Wall and the German Reunion also entailed lots of changes in public transport. Old connec- tions to the surrounding areas were quickly reactivated while the former concrete border was a shadow of what it used to be. The gradual reconnecting process of two separate systems as well as the evident contrast of Eastern Germany with Western Germany are what these exciting years of change were all about. And you’re right in the middle of the action! As a bus driver on route 5 and 92 (since 1991 route 130 and 137) it’s your task, day and night, in all kinds of weather, to get your passengers from the U-Bahn stations Ruhleben or Rathaus Spandau to their homes on the outskirts of the city as safely and comfortably as possible. You’ll quickly realize that OMSI offers limitless driving fun, and not just on the way from point A to point B! Everything is here: real destinati- ons, hydraulics, brakes, lights, engine, transmission, heater, weather, seasons, physics and much more, all of it exactly as it was in real life, and all of it waiting for you. Enjoy the privileged perspective and regal presence of a classic Berliner double-decker from the 80s and 90s! 6 7 Aerosoft GmbH 2013 Letting your creativity loose OMSI offers nearly limitless possibilities for creating your own landscapes, streets, towns and vehicles. With the Route Editor, you can easily alter existing routes or create your own. Once you gained a little experience, you can even customize the buses’ liveries. Where did the idea for OMSI come from? As children, we set off for school each morning, took our seats on the softly upholstered fake leather seats of an SD200, inhaled that typical. SD smell, heard the characteristic hum and whine of the transmission and axles and the revving of the motor – and thought that it’s the most normal thing in the world. We’d never have dreamed that these completely normal things would soon be part of the past. Like the many organizations that lovingly care for historical vehicles and take them out for traditional outings to try to keep the memory of the past alive, we’re attempting to do the same thing in a completely different medium and to give this trip in the past a whole new atmosphere. System requirements To fully enjoy “OMSI - The Omnibus Simulator” your PC should meet the following system requirements: • Operating system: Windows XP/Vista/7/8 • Processor (CPU): 2.6 GHz • RAM: minimum 2 GB RAM • Graphics card: Geforce® ATI Radeon® minimum 512 MB • Addition: DirectX: 9.0c or better • Internet connection and Steam User Account is required 8 9 Aerosoft GmbH 2013 1.4. Installation Note: You must be logged on as an administrator (particularly for Windows Vista and Windows 7 users) and be connected to the Internet to install OMSI 2 – otherwise the installation will not work. 1. Insert the OMSI 2 disc into your disc drive. Follow the installation instructions presented on screen. If the installation does not start automatically: a. Click START on the task bar b. Click MY COMPUTER c. Double click on the appropriate DVD-ROM drive d. Double click on the setup.exe icon 2. Steam will be installed first. It may update itself at various points. 3. You must choose whether to create a new Steam account or use an existing one. Enter the required information and write down or print the Steam account information. 4. Enter your game activation code when requested by the wizard. 5. OMSI 2 will be installed from the DVD. Any necessary updates will then be downloaded from the Internet. 6. After the game has installed, you will see a OMSI 2 icon on your desktop. Double click this to start running the game. 7. If you receive an “access is denied” message, retry the installation. 1.5. Tutorials Use the new tutorials in OMSI 2 to learn controlling the programme, the bus and driving step by step in the simulator! 8 9 OMSI 2 1.6. About This Manual The chapter “The First Kilometer” explains the OMSI controls in general and focuses on one bus in particular. It will walk you through the first steps, from starting the program to picking up your first passenger. Dialogue boxes and their options are also explained in great detail. All further chapters are supposed to be reference works. All differences between OMSI 1 and OMSI 2 are written in bold. 1.7. Terms Below you’ll find explanations of some frequently used terms: •

    How to get to the Climate Analytics Berlin office Our office is located at Friedrichstraße 231, 10969 Berlin, Germany, and can be accessed through the inner courtyard – entrance B. Our offices are located on the second and third floor – we recommend visiting the second floor office first, as the majority of our team is based there. The closest U-Bahn Stations are Kochstraße and Hallesches Tor. From there it’s a 5 minute walK to the office. Below is a route description from the various points you might be entering Berlin. Maps for walKing routes are provided from page 2. From airport Tegel Take the bus TXL towards Alexanderplatz until the station Hauptbahnhof. See the steps below on how to continue from there. From the central station (Hauptbahnhof) You have two options: 1) Take the bus M41 towards Sonnenallee/Baumschulenstraße or Hermannplatz. Get off at the station Willy-Brandt-Haus (this leg of the journey taKes approximately 12 minutes) and from there it’s a 400 meter walK to our office In total this should taKe about 20 minutes. 2) Take the S7 (direction Ahrensfelde), S75 (direction Wartenberg) or S5 (direction Strausberg Nord) to Friedrichstraße. There, change to the U6 towards Alt- Mariendorf. Get off at Kochstraße and walK from there. In total his should taKe about 20 minutes. From airport Schönefeld There are two options: 1) This option requires more walKing, but is generally quicKer: Take the bus X7 towards Rudow until the final station, U-Bahnhof Rudow. From there, taKe the U7 towards Rathaus Spandau until Möckernbrücke. From there you’ll need to walk 700 meters (see map below).

Zank” [Hans Zank] signiert. Der ”Kolk” ist das ¨alteste Siedlungsgebiet und eine Ortslage im Berliner Ortsteil Spandau, nahe der im Ortsteil Haselhorst gelegenen Zitadelle Spandau. Der Kolk grenzt unmittelbar an die Altstadt Spandau. Heute wird das Gebiet Behnitz (fr¨uher auch B¨ahnitz) und Kolk genannt. Kolk heißt dar¨uber hinaus eine Straße innerhalb dieses Gebietes (neben M¨ollentordamm, Hohen Steinweg und Behnitz). Trotzdem hat sich die Bezeichnung Kolk im Volksmund durchgesetzt. Die Straße Kolk liegt auf der fr¨uheren Insel Behnitz, einem der ¨altesten Siedlungsgebiete des Bezirks Spandau. Der Titel des Bildes ”Alt-Spandau” ist postum vergeben und konnte bisher nicht zweifelsfrei dem Werkeverzeichnis von Heinrich Wolter aus dem Jahr 1987 zugeordnet werden. Die vorliegende Arbeit (67,3 cm x 51,5 cm) entspricht in einer Variante den Werkeverzeichnis Nr.: 1744, 1746 und 1747 (Wolter, Heinrich (1987): Hans Zank und Willi Gericke - Zwei bedeutsame Berliner Maler in einer bewegten Zeit der Welt- und Kunstgeschichte, Verlag Galerie Pro Art, Auflage 1, Seite 217-218, Werkeverzeichnis Nr.: 1744, 1746 und 1747). The name may be unfamiliar to many outside the former Yugoslavia. The name will surely be unknown by most people outside the international community and those committed to the universal protection of human rights through criminal prosecution. Drazen Erdemovic is a confessed killer. Drazen Erdemovic has confessed to killing somewhere between seventy and one hundred unarmed Muslims in a mass execution as a member of the Bosnian Serb army in July 1995. 3 In this regard, he is the first convicted defendant 4 to stem from the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) established by the United Nations in 1993.
