It was in 1840 when the 7th Duchess of Bedford found a tasty solution to the problem of being hungry at around 4pm, having to wait another four hours before dinner at 8pm; tea with bread and butter.

After inviting a few friends to join her afternoon tea had been established and the rest, as they say, is history! Today, afternoon tea includes dainty finger sandwiches, including the famous thinly sliced

Ripper Tour, meeting at Tower Hill station by the coffee stand called "Tower Hill Tram" and leaving at 8pm. Look for the red strawberry umbrella.

To get to Tower Hill use District or Circle Lines (green or yellow lines). The coffee stand is directly opposite the exit. MONDAY 7TH NOVEMBER
