Welcome to the 73rd Del Mar National Horse Show

The Del Mar National Horse Show is steeped in tradition and a rich history of showcasing some of the most exciting and prestigious world-class equestrian competitions in the western region.

Yet spectators of our three-week event don’t need to be well-versed in the equestrian world to thoroughly enjoy the show!

That’s why, for the first time, the Del Mar National Horse Show will feature an interactive exhibit called “Meet the Breeds” to delight kids and families with hands-on opportunities to experience the exciting world of horses at our three signature Saturday evening performances. Whether you grew up in the equestrian arena or have simply dreamed about owning or riding a horse, “Meet the Breeds” offers a fun chance to sit in different types of saddles, get an up-close and personal view of different breeds of horses and even take selfies with your favorite four-legged show-stoppers.

We welcome you to this truly unique horse show happening next to the dazzling waves of the Pacific Ocean at the storied Del Mar Fairgrounds and Racetrack. The Del Mar National draws nearly 1,500 horses which compete in three distinct disciples of Western, Dressage and Hunter-Jumper to this beautiful seaside location.

Whatever your level of experience is in the equestrian world, we welcome you to watch free classes ringside during the day, cheer on hundreds of the best riders and horses from around the world throughout the week and to be wowed and entertained at Night of the Horse, our beloved equestrian theatrical performance.
