2017 NCAA OUTDOOR Championship Qualifying Automatic qualifying standards no longer exist. The top-48 athletes in each event will compete at one of two sites of the “National Championship Preliminary Round.” As part of the “West Region” Kansas athletes who qualify for the preliminary round of the NCAA Championships will compete in Austin, Texas, May 25-27. Athletes will then compete in a bracket-style format through their respective events with the top-24 athletes advancing to the NCAA Championships in the individual events and top 16 moving on in the relay events. The NCAA Outdoor Championships will be held in Eugene, Oregon, June 7-10.

Already a member of the Kansas Athletics Hall of Fame, Stanley Redwine of his years in Fayetteville. Redwine went on to spend nine years as an assistant is a living legend in Jayhawk country and one of the most well-respected coach at his alma mater. coaches in the United States.
