Ensure follow all road markings and are aware of your surroundings. Wear appropriate clothing and be prepared for changing weather conditions. Only undertake the route if it is within your cycling and fitness capability and ensure you schedule in refreshment breaks in along the way. Check all of your equipment is in good condition. Environmental conditions can change the nature of the trails within a short space of time, you should only continue if safe to do so. It’s also a good idea to ensure you have a basic first aid kit with you.
