Abstract: A new species of the genus Minilimosina (Allolimosina) Roháček is described from Nepal, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. Minilimosina (A.) cerciseta Su, 2011 is newly recorded from Pakistan, and it is also new to the Oriental region.

Key words: Minilimosina (Allolimosina), M. (A.) brunnea sp. nov., M. (A.) cerciseta Su, Oriental region, Diptera, Sphaeroceridae

as narrowest genal width; antenna brown; arista about Introduction 4.5 times as long as first flagellomere, long pubescent. The subgenus Allolimosina Roháček, 1983 of the Thorax: Dark brown, brown microtomentose; 1 genus Minilimosina Roháček, 1983 is a small group, dc, about 6 rows of irregular ac microsetae in front of containing 7 species from the Palaearctic, Oriental, suture; prescutellar ac not prominent; kepst minute; Nearctic and Neotropical regions (Marshall, 1985; shining area on anterior part of katepisternum; Roháček, 1983; Su, 2011; Su et al., 2015). In the scutellum rounded triangular, somewhat wider Oriental region, only one species, M. (A.) alloneura than long, 2 sctl, apical sctl about 1.5 times as long as (Richards, 1952) is recorded from Hubei, China (Su et scutellum. al., 2015). Wing (Fig. 1): Length about 0.75 mm, light brown, This subgenus is distinguishable from the other veins brown; costa a little extending beyond the end of

subgenera of the genus Minilimosina by the following R4+5; second costal sector very short, about 0.4 times characters; small body size (0.8‒1.2 mm), only one as long as the third; R2+3 and R4+5 strongly curved prescutellar dc, very short 2nd costal sector (in less forward, they are most strongly curved among the than 0.7 times as long as 3rd), very short discal cell and members of the subgenus, discal cell very short, r-m‒ acute angled posterior corner of discal cell. dm-cu very short; alula small, acute; halter with dark I studied the Oriental specimens of the genus brown knob and pale brown stem. Minilimosina, and found two species of the subgenus Legs: Entirely dark brown; mid tibia with 3 ad setae Allolimosina; one is M. (A.) cerciseta Su, 2011, which on basal 1/4, 3/5 and near apex, 1 d seta on 6/7, and was described from Hebei, China based on one male 2 pd setae on 2/7 and 5/6, ventrally with strong apical specimen, and another is an undescribed species. I seta. record and describe them in this paper. Abdomen: Dark brown, brown microtomentose. The specimens examined in this study are preserved Male. Sternite 5 (Figs. 3‒4) long, prolonged in the Reference Museum, Department of Medical posteromedially, with a row of about 18 flat spines Entomology, National Institute of Infectious Diseases, posteriorly; epandrium with sparse short setae, Tokyo. surstylus as in Fig. 5, paramere (Fig. 6) slender, apex pointed. Female cercus slender and long, with 3 long sinuate setae. Type series. Holotype: ♂, Poring, 700 m, Sabah, Minilimosina (Allolimosina) brunnea Hayashi sp. nov. Borneo, Malaysia, 13‒17 Nov. 1995, T. VIETNAM: 1♂, Tam Dao, 0.9 mm). 930‒1,230 m, Vinh Phu Prov., 8‒10 Oct. 1999, T. Head: Generally dark brown, frons largely reddish Hayashi; 2♂♂, Gia Vien, Cuc Phuong, 370 m, Ninh brown; 4 if weak, almost same length; 2 ors, 1 oc, 1 Binh Prov. 11‒12 Oct. 1999, T. Hayashi. The specific name refers to the the members of the subgenus by the postabdominal Vol. 68 No. 3 2017 111 structures, especially long male sternite 5. records of this species from Pakistan suggest it has wide distribution in Asia. Minilimosina (A.) cerciseta Su, 2011 This species is related to Minilimosina (Allolimosina) (Figs. 2, 7‒8) albinervis (Duda, 1918) and M. (A.) alloneura Minilimosina (Allolimosina) cerciseta Su, 2011: 69. (Richards), but is distinguishable from them by Redescription. Body length 0.9‒1.1 mm, general shining pattern on pleura, a little darkened 2nd costal color dark brown. Thorax: about 6 rows of irregular sector, wing venation and male genital structures. ac microsetae in front of suture; prescutellar ac Acknowledgements not prominent; shining areas on lower part of anepisternum and anterior part of katepisternum, I express my sincere thanks to Drs. K. Kamimura of which are not separated. Wing (Fig. 2): Length about Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University and 0.95 mm, almost hyaline, veins pale brown; costa S. Shinonaga of Tokyo Medical and Dental University brown, a little extending beyond the end of R4+5; for giving me opportunities to survey the sphaerocerid second costal sector a little darkened, about 0.6 times faunas of Pakistan and Nepal respectively. as long as the third; R4+5 gently curved forward; This study was partly supported by the Grant-in- r-m‒dm-cu almost same length as dm-cu; halter Aid for Monbusho International Scientific Research dark brown. Male sternite 5 (Fig. 7) rather simple, Program (Field Research) to Tokyo Medical and posteromedially with about 15 flat spines, surstylus Dental University in 1992 (Grant No. 04041043); and as in Fig. 8.
