SFTC is the only hosting and organizing comprehensive institution for China Aid. Since 2012, SFTC, has organized 38 China Aid training programs. The training activities cover the fields of economics and trade, agriculture, information and management, etc. More than 1035 personnel from 79 countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Oceania have participated in the seminars and trainings. Founded in 1964, SFTC boasts of longest history of international business vocational education in Shandong Province. Since 2012, SFTC has organized 4 sessions of training courses themed on greenhouse vegetable cultivation techniques by making full use of Shandong’s advantage in agriculture and been committed to disseminating advanced techniques to recipient countries, which has generated fruitful results. SFTC is located in Qingdao, the leading economically developed city in Shandong Province, and among the Top12 cities with comprehensive power in China. Qingdao is also one of the 5 specially designated cites in country-planning, a world-famous port city, an important economic and cultural center in east-coast of China and an internationally famous seaside resort.

The training course aims to offer vegetable planting technology training to officials in the field of vegetable production and management, technology promotion staff from the Ministry of Agriculture and Academy of Agricultural Sciences and vegetable industry stuff from developing countries. It will be carried out with the assistance of Shandong Agricultural University which is a co-constructed university by Ministry of Agriculture and Shandong provincial government; by National Bureau of Forestry and Shandong provincial government. It has 200 mu of experimental stations, various infrastructures including modern greenhouse, tunnels, sunlight greenhouse etc. and over 300 famous germplasm resources including fruits, vegetables, flowers and teas, which provides convenience to teaching. The main content includes: development and trend of vegetable industry in China, types of plastic house and construction techniques, environment characteristics and controlling of plastic house, key technology for safe cultivation in greenhouse, greenhouse vegetable management and management techniques of water and fertilizer, vegetable nursery, Seminar soilless cultivation, post-harvest vegetable processing, innocuous plant protection techniques for Content common vegetable diseases and insect pests, etc. This course will take teaching approaches of discussion, cases and interaction, and will attach much attention on combination of teaching and practice. During the training, the participants will be arranged to visit major vegetable production bases and enterprises, including Shouguang County (the Vegetable Town) of Weifang. They can also take field practice of seeding nursery and transplanting and visit modern greenhouse designing company in Jinan as well as modern farm running concepts in Beijing. In this way, the participants can learn more about the advanced experience and practical techniques of the greenhouse vegetable application and can have more comprehensive and thorough knowledge of the development of China’s greenhouse vegetable planting technology, and thus get a better understanding of what they have learned in classes. Through the training course, we believe that the participants would broaden their horizons and explore new ideas within limited time and it also provides a good platform for the participants to communicate experience as well as improve capabilities.
