Of course, as usual, we had light winds earlier in the week only to have the trades come roaring back just in time for our tournament. We had ten 7pm boats sign up, which is about five less than our previous tournaments, but still a great showing. Doug Peebles came out of retirement to scoop both the Largest Fish and The Fish of the Day Jackpots. Doug received 12 points right off the bat for his efforts. Margaret was under the impression it was a Wahine tournament and joined Doug and his crew for the nice day out on the ocean.☺ I don’t know, but Doug may want to tell Margaret that all the tournaments are Wahine Tournaments as Margaret could have been the good luck charm. So Doug hit the Jackpot with a 26 pound mahimahi, John Barnes came in a close second with a 25 pound mahimahi, and Rich Carvill came in third, beating yours truly with a 17 pound mahimahi. There were numerous marlin strikes during the day, in fact, John Barnes fought one for an hour and a half before the marlin said "Aloha Nui Loa!" A similar occurrence happened to my Get Hooked on the Fun boat as the marlin did the same with my brand new lure.
