POWERBALL JACKPOT WON BY PUERTO RICO TICKET NEW JERSEY HAS ONE THIRD PRIZE WINNER

TRENTON, N.J. (April 20, 2015) – After only two drawings, one Puerto Rico Lottery ticket matched all five white balls and the red to win the $50 million annuity jackpot from the drawing held on Saturday, April 18. This is the second Powerball winning ticket sold in Puerto Rico this year with the last ticket splitting a $564.1 million jackpot with ticketholders in North Carolina and Texas from the Feb. 11 draw. One New Jersey third-prize winning ticket was sold that matched 4 white balls to win $10,000. If that ticket had been purchased with the Powerplay option it would have been worth $30,000. That ticket was purchased in Camden County at Merchantville Food Market, 134 E. Park Ave., Merchantville. In addition, there were 15,352 New Jersey players who took home $94,099 in prizes ranging from $4 to $300, from that draw, according to Carole Hedinger, Executive Director. “New Jersey residents win every time lottery tickets are purchased,” Hedinger continued. From this two-roll Powerball win, Lottery beneficiaries will receive an estimated $ 815,500 in contributions in support of education and institutions. Since its inception in 1970, the New Jersey Lottery (NJLottery.com) has contributed more than $23 billion to the State in support of its beneficiaries. Among its beneficiaries are: veterans homes, colleges and universities, school nutrition programs, homes for the developmentally disabled, higher education scholarship programs and the Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf.

The winning numbers for the Saturday, April 18 drawing were: 13, 22, 23, 29 and 31. The Red Power Ball number was 17. The Multiplier number was 03.

“Congratulations to all of these fortunate lottery players who purchased the winning tickets and to the retailers who sold them,” said Hedinger. “For selling all of the winning tickets, these retailers have become many more of the Lottery’s ‘lucky locations’ overnight.”

The Powerball jackpot will reset to $40,000,000 for the next drawing to be held Wednesday, April 22 at 10:57 pm. Watch New Jersey Lottery drawings for the Pick-3, Pick-4, Jersey Cash 5, Pick-6, from the Lottery website homepage (NJLottery.com), or on the official Lottery Facebook Page. Evening draws, with the exception of CASH4LIFE, can be seen on WPIX-TV (PIX11) in New York and WPHL-TV (PHL17) in Philadelphia. Powerball and drawings can be seen on WABC-TV stations.
