 An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale (SR) rocked the Alor , East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Wednesday (11/04/2015) 10:44 hours GMT.

 The epicenter was located at latitude 8.20 and 124.94 BT, 28 kilometers northeast of Alor district with a depth of 89 kilometers.

 1,468 damaged houses (519 heavily damaged, 193 moderately damaged and 756 slightly damaged)

 20 places of worship and 10 school buildings were damaged.

 Losses from the earthquake reached Rp 123 billion.

Situation Overview ______

An earthquake measuring 6.2 Richer Scale (SR) in Alor District, East Nusa Tenggara has caused thousands of houses were severely damaged and slighty damaged. The worst damage was in the village of Maritaing, South Kolana, Padang Panjang, in the district of East Alor where most homes were damaged. People in Alor today are still displaced in tents and homes of its citizens that were not affected by the earthquake. Earthquakes victims in East Alor prefer highland area as a place of refuge, fearing a tsunami and still traumatized by a similar tragedy in 1991.

Aftershocks still occur following the 6.2 Richer Scale (SR) since yesterday. The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) Climatological Station Class 1 noted last aftershock occurred on Wednesday (4/11) yesterday. An earthquake measuring 4.6 and 4.4 on the Richter Scale (SR) occurred at 02:49 and 07:05 hours local time.

Alor District government still sets a disaster emergency for the District because of the aftershocks are still happening. If until the first 14 days is completed and still aftershocks, the local government will add 14 days more as an emergency earthquake, until really no official statement from BMKG.

BPBDs NTT province conduct an inventory logistics, pharmaceuticals and medical devices for service to the citizens. Food aid in refugees camp has been established by BPBDs Alor in cooperation with local social services. DMC Dompet Dhuafa has provided adequate support emergency tents in , the capital city of Alor, and the surrounding area. Emergency handling of the impact of a 6.2 magnitude earthquake is still being conducted until now.
