CELTIC Goes East IMAGE SHIELD Champions! by a Special Reporter (from Scoil an Spioraid Naoimh, Roxborough)

Monday, November 11th 2018 started out as a nervous day for all of us. We set off for Rathkeale and as soon as we arrived we had our photo taken. We ran out onto the pitch in Neville Park to face Milford in the semi-final. They were very tough. Gemma got Roxborough on the scoreboard by scoring the first point of the match. We scored two more points fairly quickly after that. Milford came back into the match and levelled the score at three points each. At half-time the score was 0-4 all. It was all to play for in the second half. Every time Roxborough scored, Mlford matched it. It was 0-7 all with a few seconds to go. Fortunately, a point just before the final whistle gave Roxborough a place in the final. Even our principal, Mr. Leahy, jumped for joy! After the game, Izzy needed a bandage for her finger but she insisted she could play in the final. When the big moment arrived, we ran out of the dressing room and onto the pitch after a motivational speech from our manager. were ready and so were we. Everyone got into their positions.
