FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FEBRUARY 23, 2009 BOULEVARD CASINO PRESENTS GAVIN ROSSDALE LIVE AT THE RED ROBINSON SHOW THEATRE FRIDAY, APRIL 17 Coquitlam, BC – After years spent at the top of rock’s grungy heap and then a couple more in a peculiar sort of high-profile musical wilderness, Gavin Rossdale can hardly wait to get back on the road. From the mid-90’s into the early 21st century, Rossdale was seeing much of the world from the stage of an ever-changing procession of theatres, arenas and stadiums as the dashingly tortured lead singer, guitarist and songwriter for Bush … a band that first came together in London back in 1992. Right from their 1994 album, Sixteen Stone, Bush connected powerfully with post-Grunge America through a series of jagged yet infectious hit songs including “Everything’s Zen,” “Little Things,” “Comedown,” “Glycerine,” “Machinehead,” “Swallowed” and “The Chemicals Between Us.” After the band went their separate ways in 2002, Rossdale released a hard-edged record with a group he dubbed Institute. The album, Distort Yourself included the single, “Bullet Proof Skin” which was used in the motion picture, Stealth. Last June, Rossdale released his debut solo album, Wanderlust which featured the hit single, “Love Remains the Same.” Wanderlust was produced by Bob Rock and included Josh Freese on drums, Paul Bushnell on bass, Jamie Muhoberac on keyboards and Chris Traynor on guitar. Like Peter Gabriel after leaving Genesis, he has moved beyond his past in a massively popular band and used the opportunity of going solo to stop hiding … to explore his life both lyrically and musically. Said Rossdale of the album: "The wanderlust I'm talking about isn't that desire to travel and see the world. It's my overwhelming desire to get out and play music for people. I feel like a racehorse that's been stuck in the stables a bit too long." He is currently preparing to go on a full-scale spring tour which will include a one-night performance at Boulevard Casino’s Red Robinson Show Theatre in April.
