Leisa Rosen Associate Head Coach 23rd Season at Michigan

• Leisa (Wissler) Rosen completed her 20th season at the University of Michigan working with her husband, head coach Mark Rosen. Prior to the 2001 season, Rosen was promoted to Associate Head Coach after spending her first two years at Michigan as an Assistant Coach.

• Rosen preceded her appointment at Michigan with a one-year coaching stint at Boise State University. While at Boise State, Rosen served as recruiting coordinator for the volleyball program, and was promoted to associate head coach before accepting the Michigan position. In addition to organizing Boise State’s recruiting efforts, Rosen worked with the Bronco squad in all phases of the game, with her primary focus being the middle block- ers.

• Began her coaching career with the Central Ohio Volleyball Club in 1992. She followed that with a two-year stint as the 16-Gold coach of the Kern River Volleyball Club in Bakersfield, Calif. (1993-94).

• Played professionally for the San Diego Spikers of the National Volleyball Association.

• Before her professional career, Rosen was a standout collegiate performer for the Ohio State University Buckeyes (1988-91). During her collegiate career, the Buckeyes won two Big Ten Conference champion- ships (1989, ‘91) and advanced to the 1991 NCAA Championship Semifinals.

• Garnered numerous individual accolades at Ohio State. As a senior, she was selected the Big Ten Conference Player of the Year, AVCA All-America second team and was the Ohio State Female Athlete of the Year. Rosen was named to the AVCA All-Mideast Region team three times (1989, ‘90, ‘91). She captured Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors in 1988 and also competed in the United States Olympic Festival in 1989 and 1991. She was inducted into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2001.

Jerome Fraisse Assistant Coach 3rd Season at Michigan

• Served as Michigan’s volunteer assistant coach in 2018. Elevated to assistant coach prior to 2019 season.

• Came to Ann Arbor, Michigan by way of Grenoble, France, where he spent three years playing for the Grenoble Volleyball Club ProB as both an outside hitter and middle blocker.

• Following his playing years, Fraisse began coaching with the L’ES Meylan Volleyball Club in Meylan, France, where he served as both an assistant women’s coach and a head women’s coach. He then spent seven years with the L’Arago Sète Volleyball club, and served in various roles including Director of Beach Volleyball, Women’s Head Coach, Men’s Head Coach, Development Center Manager, and Men’s Assistant Coach for ProA, the top professional league.

• Fraisse has aso worked with the French Boys U20 National Team as well as a girl’s U17 club team in Ottawa, Canada. His most recent coaching position was at Collège Catholique Samuel-Genest in Ottawa.

Ali Bastianelli Volunteer Assistant Coach 1st Season at Michigan

• Joined the Michigan Volleyball staff as a volunteer assistant coach in the fall of 2021.

• Currently playing as a member of Team USA at the 2021 NORCECA Women's Continental Championship in Guadalajara, Mexico.

• Played four seasons at Illinois, playing a critical role in the Fighting Illini's trip to the National semi-final in 2018.

• Set the Illinois record for career blocks and block assists, and at the time of her graduation was second all-time in Big Ten history in career blocks. She was also a highly decorated student-athlete for both her play on the court and performance in the classroom, being a Senior CLASS Award finalist and first-team honoree, a two-time AVCA All-America third-team selection, a three-time All-Big Ten winner, and a CoSIDA Academic All-District second team member.
