Welcome

I have great pleasure in introducing our Autumn and Winter programme for the School of Arts at the University of Surrey. You will find a broad range of events scheduled - from film screenings to theatre productions, musicals to contemporary dance performances, and from lectures, seminars and symposia to a programme of concerts in venues across Guildford.

Come along to campus to experience the latest developments in motion capture technology in the Arts at an event led by experimental theatre company Curious Directive, experience the work of internationally renowned contemporary dancer Noé Soulier and enjoy one of the most exciting and cutting-edge contemporary music ensembles in the world, Icebreaker, who will be performing in the Ivy Arts Centre.

These are just a few of the many and varied events taking place this season at Surrey. Distinguished visiting artists and speakers feature alongside student performers with productions by GSA students and concerts featuring the University Choir and Orchestra, and we look forward to a series of installations in the Lewis Elton Gallery and a wide range of seminars dedicated to leading research in the Arts.

Please take time to browse through the brochure and do check the website for further details.

I very much look forward to welcoming you to our events – both on and off campus. Professor Andy Lavender Head of the School of Arts
