Monthly Notification – Eastern Creek 12 August 2021 is Australia’s biggest public transport project. will connect Greater with the Sydney CBD and involve the construction of around 24 kilometres of twin tunnels. Confirmed stations include Westmead, Parramatta, , North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays, Pyrmont and Sydney CBD. This infrastructure investment will double the rail capacity of the Greater Parramatta to Sydney CBD corridor with a travel time target between the two centres of about 20 minutes. Sydney Metro is constructing two adjacent precast facilities on an approximately 17 hectare site at Lenore Drive, Eastern Creek to support the delivery of Sydney Metro West. The site will be used to manufacture concrete segments needed to line the twin tunnels for Sydney Metro West. This proposal was exhibited for public comment in late 2020 and was approved on 16 February 2021.

In line with Public Health Orders, work is now permitted at construction sites in Greater Sydney subject to conditions. Construction at the Eastern Creek precast site is planned to re-commence on Monday, 16 August in line with current restrictions.

Construction update: Precast Facilities Early works to prepare the site will continue from 16 August 2021 including construction to upgrade the Lenore Drive/ Archbold Road intersection, construction of Western Access Road and partial construction of the future Archbold Road. Work will take place during standard construction hours. Please note, standard hours have changed: • Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 6pm • Sunday and Public Holidays 8am to 6pm Please see map overleaf for work areas.

Work will involve: • Survey work including utility, geotechnical and topographic • Earthworks (including construction of storm water basins) • Transportation of spoil from the Sydney International Speedway site, located on Ferrers Road in Eastern Creek, to the precast site • Utility investigation, adjustment and protection at the intersection on Lenore Drive (including potholing) • Construction of utility and stormwater infrastructure which will include gas, potable water, electricity (including installation of a substation) and telecommunications • Sampling of soil within the precast site and safe removal of contaminated soil and asbestos by licenced operators. • Delivery of raw materials, machinery and other items to allow work to continue onsite (pits, concrete, pipes, concrete pits, raw materials, plant machinery etc)

What to expect: • Access to Lenore Drive and surrounding properties will be maintained • The work will generate noise and the team will minimise impacts where possible

• Traffic control, installation of safety barriers and directional signage will be in place for the safety of workers and the community • There will be no disruption to the delivery of utility services.

Equipment used: Equipment used for this work includes but is not limited to: excavators, dozers, scrapers, graders, compactors, dump trucks, road trucks, cranes, water carts, street sweepers, jack hammers, saw cutters, traffic control, temporary fencing, heavy and light vehicles and generators.

Changes to traffic pedestrian and cyclist routes: During the work, traffic control will be in place to assist motorists, pedestrians and cyclists with any changes to traffic conditions. This may include temporary and permanent traffic signage, installation of safety barriers, reduction in the speed limit, lane closures and traffic controllers present on the road. The times of these changes will vary and are dependent on road authority approvals.
