Some rides and attractions at Sea World are physically demanding and vigorous. We recommend that you visit our Guest Services office (located Q3) so our staff can assist you in determining if there are any rides or attractions you should not go on for safety reasons. 3 What you need to know…

PARKING Parking for guests with physical disabilities is available in the first row of the car park and upper level outside Administration. PUBLIC TRANSPORT Enjoy the convenience of bus and taxi facilities to and from the Main Entrance. Gold Coast Cabs have vehicles which cater for guests using wheelchairs. It is suggested that if you require this service a booking be made with the taxi company prior to your visit by phoning 131 008. Other suggested modes of transport are via: Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle 1300 655 655 Gold Coast Limousines 07 5504 3999 ENTRANCE PRICE As not all attractions are fully accessible to wheelchairs, we do offer a discounted rate for: • Guests with intellectual, aural and visual disabilities • Carers (conditions apply). Please advise the cashier when purchasing your entry ticket if you or any member of your party requires this discounted rate. Wheelchair access into the park is through gates 1, 3 or 5. GROUP BOOKINGS Discount rates are offered for group visits of 20 or more people. Please contact the Customer Connect Team on 133 386 prior to your visit to arrange a group reservation. VISIT WITH A COMPANION Most restaurants, shops and most attractions are accessible to wheelchairs. In some attractions it may be necessary for guests to be assisted from their wheelchair into a boat or train. Guests with disabilities should plan to visit with someone who can physically help when necessary. Theme Park attendants are not available to accompany guests in wheelchairs for the duration of the day. A discounted entrance price for the carer of a guest who has a physical disability is available at the ticket booth upon request (conditions apply). ASSISTED LISTENING SERVICE An Assisted Listening Service for guests with hearing difficulties is available at specified attractions. Please visit Guest Services (location Q3) for enquiries and equipment.

RESTROOMS Restrooms designed for access by wheelchairs are located at: • Castaway Bay (location E3) • Monorail Mid Station (location G3) • Plaza eating area (location J3) • Top Terrace (location Q6). • (location Q3). PARENTS NURSING ROOMS These are located at: • Monorail Mid Station (location G3) • Top Terrace (location Q6). WHEELCHAIRS AND STROLLER RENTAL A limited number of wheelchairs and strollers are available to hire for a minimal cost at Guest Services (location Q3). FIRST AID Registered Nurses staff the First Aid centre (location Q6). Any personal medical equipment (for example ventilators) may be stored and used at First Aid. First Aid does not supply such equipment for everyday use. Medicine that requires refrigeration may also be stored at First Aid. GUEST LOCKERS Personal items may be stored in coin operated lockers. These are available at the following locations: • Top Terrace (location Q6) • Castaway Bay (location D3) • Under Monorail Main Station (location P2) • Adjacent to Dockside Tavern (location L4). GUEST SERVICES For any special assistance or information, please enquire at Guest Services located at the Top Terrace (location Q3). GUIDE DOGS Guide Dogs are allowed in most locations throughout the park with the exception of Jet Rescue, Storm Coaster, Viking’s Revenge Flume Ride, Castaway Bay attractions and the rides within Beach Break Bay. For any assistance with Guide Dogs please contact Guest Services on 07 5588 2178. Due to Sea World’s quarantine status, please ensure vaccinations are current. DINING The following eateries are accessible to wheelchairs: • Plaza Food Court • Top Terrace Food Court. In order to maximise enjoyment, the following attraction procedures are recommended for guests with disabilities. Guests with pre-existing medical conditions, injuries or disabilities should visit Guest Services (location Q3) prior to presenting to our attractions. For those guests who wish to experience Jet Rescue and Viking’s Revenge Flume Ride, we strongly suggest the companion try the ride first. The companion should approach the Ride Attendant and advise them of the situation. Please refer to Showtimes insert for show start times. AFFINITY DOLPHIN SHOW Delight at this unique and wondrous presentation starring the world’s most popular and endearing marine mammals. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before show times. Approach the Show Attendant who will direct you to reserved wheelchair seating at the front of the stadium. FISH DETECTIVES SEA LION SHOW Laugh along as Detective Sam Sweetlip and his dedicated team of crime fighting sea lions band together to bring Baloney to justice and save the fish in the harbour. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before show times. Guests in wheelchairs should enter through the southern end of the stadium (location L2). Approach the Show Attendant who will direct you to reserved wheelchair seating. JET STUNT EXTREME Featuring some of the world's best jet ski stunt performers cutting the biggest and best aerial tricks, you'll be on the edge of your seat! Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before show times. Reserved wheelchair seating is available at the top of the stadium. Please approach the Show Attendant for directions.

TAKE NOTE, SOME PARTS OF THE SHOW INVOLVE: • Sound effects played at high volume which may discomfort those with sensitive hearing • Pyrotechnics which may startle Guide Dogs. SEA WORLD THEATRE Please see Park Map and Showtime insert for current feature film. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before show times. Approach the Show Attendant who will direct you to reserved wheelchair seating in the theatre.

8 DORA'S BEST FRIENDS ADVENTURE STAGE SHOW Dora and Boots need to meet each other at Rainbow Rock for their Best Friends Day Picnic, but they're in two different places! Oh no... What will they do? Sing and dance along to this live stage show, as you help them find each other again. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before show times. Approach the Show Attendant who will direct to reserved wheelchair seating. PENGUIN ENCOUNTER, POLAR BEAR SHORES, SEAL HARBOUR, SHARK BAY & RAY REEF Wheelchair access is available to all animal attractions, including upper and lower levels of Polar Bear Shores, Penguin Encounter and Shark Bay. JET RESCUE Join the Sea World Rescue team on an exciting mission to save our precious marine life.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the nature of this attraction, expectant mothers, guests suffering from neck, back or heart disorders, seizures or any other physical limitations that could be aggravated by sudden fierce movements may not ride. Safety restrictions prohibit guests under 125cm tall and over 196cm from experiencing Jet Rescue. Guests between 125cm and 135cm tall must be accompanied by an adult. Wheelchair access to Jet Rescue is via the main ride entrance. Please see attendant at ride entrance. For safety reasons, restrictions may apply for guests with an amputation, amelia or for guests with prosthetic limbs. Please speak to a Guest Services representative for further information. Participants should have certain capabilities to safely enjoy this attraction. For the purpose of your personal safety, requirements include but are not limited to: • Transfer into the train independently or with the assistance of a companion • Have full upper body movement and coordination • Independently maintain an upright position while seated • Independently support head and neck for duration of ride • Continually grasp jet ski handle bars. In the event of an evacuation, it may be necessary to negotiate stairs and other obstacles after being exited from the . For this reason it is important that companions assume responsibility should this occur.

9 STORM COASTER Hold on tight as you face a 20 metre wave on dry land. Can you brave an extraordinary fire while drenched in water? Be prepared to ride the perfect storm, without a single cloud!

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the nature of this attraction, expectant mothers, guests suffering from neck, back or heart disorders, seizures or any other physical limitations that could be aggravated by sudden fierce movements may not ride. Safety restrictions prohibit guests under 110cm and over 200cm tall from experiencing the Storm Coaster. Guests between 110cm and 130cm tall must be accompanied by an adult. Wheelchair access to Storm Coaster is via the ride entrance. Please see attendant. For safety reasons, restrictions may apply for guests with an amputation, amelia or for guests with prosthetic limbs. Please speak to a Guest Services representative for further information. Participants must have certain capabilities to safely join this attraction. For the purpose of your personal safety, requirements include but are not limited to: • Transfer into the boat independently • Have full upper body movement and coordination • Independently maintain an upright position while seated • Independently support head and neck for duration of ride • Continually grasp harness supports. In the event of an evacuation, it will be necessary to negotiate stairs after being exited from the roller coaster. Riders must have the ability to evacuate and negotiate stairs independently without assistance from a carer or companion. Riders must be able to follow verbal instructions. Visually impaired guests are required to ride with a companion who will assist them in the event of an evacuation.

10 VIKING’S REVENGE FLUME RIDE Passengers embark on a 460 metre floating ride before a conveyor takes the Viking’s boats to the battlements of the Castle for a fun-filled splash down.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the nature of this attraction, expectant mothers, guests suffering from neck, back or heart disorders, or any other physical limitations that could be aggravated by sudden fierce movements may not ride. Safety restrictions prohibit guests under 95cm tall from experiencing Viking Revenge Flume Ride. Guests between 95cm and 120cm tall must be accompanied by an adult. Wheelchair access to Viking’s Revenge Flume Ride is via the exit ramp. Please see attendant at ride control panel. For safety reasons, restrictions may apply for guests with an amputation, amelia or for guests with prosthetic limbs. Please speak to a Guest Services representative for further information. Participants should have certain capabilities to safely enjoy this attraction. For the purpose of your personal safety, requirements include but are not limited to: • Transfer into the boat independently or with the assistance of a companion • Have full upper body movement and coordination • Independently maintain an upright position while seated • Independently support head and neck for duration of ride. In the event of an evacuation, it may be necessary to negotiate stairs after being exited from the boat. For this reason it is important that companions assume responsibility should this occur. 11 CASTAWAY BAY: BATTLE BOATS The kids will love the splashtacular™ Battle Boats ride with over 80 awesome water cannons.

PLEASE NOTE: Riders will get wet! Guests under 120cm must be accompanied by an adult. Wheelchair access is available. Please see attendant. CASTAWAY BAY: SKY FORTRESS Features five fun filled levels of rope bridges, tunnels and much more.

PLEASE NOTE: Sky Fortress is designed for the enjoyment of guests aged 4 – 12 years. Children under 4 years must be accompanied by an adult. A maximum weight of 130kgs applies. Participants should have certain capabilities to safely enjoy this attraction. For the purpose of your personal safety guests should be able to Independently negotiate a passage through and over a variety of passages in confined spaces. CASTAWAY BAY: SKY CLIMB For the dare devils, the Sky Climb will test bravery and balance on a thrilling course 12 metres above the ground.

PLEASE NOTE:: Safety restrictions prohibit guests under 120cm from experiencing Sky Climb. Guests between 120cm and 140cm tall must be accompanied by an adult. A maximum weight of 130kgs applies. Participants should assess their suitability to: • Good physical condition • Wearing a full body harness • Fear of heights • Coordination over a series of obstacles at height.

12 SKY HIGH SKYWAY For a unique bird’s eye view of the park take the Sky High Skyway.

PLEASE NOTE: Most collapsible wheelchairs can be accommodated on Skyway. Non- collapsible wheelchairs can be left to collect after a round trip. Please see attendant. Guests under 122cm in height must be accompanied by an adult. Participants should have certain capabilities to safely enjoy this attraction. For the purpose of your personal safety guests should be able to: • Transfer into the gondola independently or with the assistance of a companion • Maintain an upright position independently or supported by a carer. MONORAIL Take a leisurely ride on ’s first monorail system, enjoying views of Sea World and its surrounds.

PLEASE NOTE: Limited wheelchair access is available in the last carriage only. Ramp access is available at all stations. Please seek assistance from driver if required. We strongly recommend that wheelchairs be reversed into the carriage for easier access. BEACH BREAK BAY Enjoy the magic of Beach Break Bay, with all rides designed especially for our youngest guests.

PLEASE NOTE: Direct wheelchair access is available to all rides. Parents can ride with their children on Beach Dump Trucks, Carousel, Sea Climb and Air Sea Explorer. A minimum height restriction of 105cm applies on Sea Climb, riders between 105cm and 122cm must be accompanied by an adult. A minimum height of 90cm applies on Beach Ball Bounce. Riders between 90-110cm must be accompanied by an adult. Riders must be able to maintain a self supported upright position.

13 INTERACTIVE PROGRAMS Certain criteria must be met in order to participate in each of the Animal Adventures programs. They are strictly enforced to ensure the safety of our guests, staff and animals. All participation is subject to final assessment by the Senior Marine Mammal Trainer at the time of your attendance. Please check the criteria for each program. If at any time prior to the program or during the program a participant is assessed by the Senior Marine Mammal Trainer as not being able to fulfil the criteria, they will be directed to leave the program immediately. Guests with disabilities are asked to contact our Guest Services Department to determine their suitability to participate in the Animal Adventures programs. Kindly note that a limited number of special needs programs are available for people with disabilities that may otherwise prohibit them from participating.

14 PHOTOGRAPHIC OPPORTUNITIES There are opportunities to have your photograph taken with your favourite characters and our friendly sea lions and dolphins. Please see Guest Services for more information. SEA WORLD HELICOPTER JOY FLIGHTS Take a flight with Sea World Helicopters for a bird’s eye view of Australia’s most beautiful coast line and hinterland. Book at the Helicopter Ticket Office at Sea World or phone 07 5588 2224.

PLEASE NOTE: A companion may be required to assist lifting the guest on to the helicopter. Helicopter flights are not included in general admission to Sea World.

15 AND REMEMBER Staff at Sea World are happy to assist you in any way possible. We are committed to ensuring that all our guests, regardless of the challenges they face, have an enjoyable day. HOURS OF OPERATION We’re open every day from 9.30am to 5.00pm, except Christmas Day. ANZAC Day opening hours are 1.30pm to 5.00pm. Rides and attractions operate from 10.00am to 5.00pm. OUR LOCATION Sea World is located just 5 minutes north of Surfers Paradise at Main Beach or 60 minutes south of Brisbane Airport.
