BAND BIO MRZ CROWLEY is a four member band from New Orleans, the birthplace of Jazz and capital of music. The band formulated in June 2010, and launched the ultimate tribute to the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath. With Rachel Shields on vocals, Danny Shields on bass, Steve St. Germain on guitar and Doug Hebert on drums, the group is an exceptional partnership of experienced, talented musicians. From the eras of Randy Rhoads, Jake E. Lee, Zakk Wylde and the Iron Man himself, Tony Iommi, MRZ CROWLEY’s true passion for the greatest compilations of all time inspired them to recreate the most popular and blatantly obscure tunes produced by the original artists. Brown, Advisor Between 1984 and 1991, heavy metal became one of the most publicly popular and commercially successful rock music subgenres. The focus of this dissertation is to explore the following research questions: How did the subculture of heavy metal music between 1984 and 1991 evolve and what meanings can be derived from this ongoing process? How did the contextual circumstances surrounding heavy metal music during this period impact the performative choices exhibited by artists, and from a position of retrospection, what lasting significance does this particular era of heavy metal merit today? A textual analysis of metal- related materials fostered the development of themes relating to the selective choices made and performances enacted by metal artists. These themes were then considered in terms of gender, sexuality, race, and age constructions as well as the ongoing negotiations of the metal artist within multiple performative realms. Occurring at the juncture of art and commerce, heavy metal music is a purposeful construction. Metal musicians made performative choices for serving particular aims, be it fame, wealth, or art. These same individuals worked within a greater system of influence. Metal bands were the contracted employees of record labels whose own corporate aims needed to be recognized.

It is only the fourth signature amplifier that we have produced and I feel it is a great addition to this select range. I first met Randy when he came to the factory in January 1980. He had not long ago joined Ozzy Osbourne and they were working on their first album. He came here knowing exactly what he was looking for, he just needed to find the amplifier that was going to be capable of delivering the power, the tone, and the reliability that he wanted, but was also in keeping with the image that he was to be recognised by. Randy almost found everything he was searching for in a standard 1959 head, but the tone was not quite right. He spent some time with my Service Manager, explaining the slight difference he was looking for, and after a few trials we were able to fit a modification which made the subtle change to the standard tone of the 1959. Randy left the factory to proudly stand in front of his white Marshall stack for all of his hugely successful, but sadly too brief career with Ozzy Osbourne. In this time the legendary guitarist could be seen by thousands of fans, performing in front of his Marshall stack – a sight to behold and a triumphant assault on the ears. Our design team have spent many hours investigating the original Randy Rhoads amplifier, speaking to the Randy Rhoads family, talking to people who knew Randy and heard him play, and talking to the Service Manager who was at the factory when Randy came in and made the modification to the amplifier.

    BLACK SABBATH is the goddamn best band on earth. “sweet leaf” is still the mother of creation. four bastards met in may 2001. they shared their love for both of these things. combining the power of SABBATH and weed, band created a very own and fuckin’ murdering heavy sound - still the one and only existing law for GORILLA MONSOON. during their existence various members left the band; replaced by true believers of religion named metal the band became stronger and heavier. two founding members, jack and drumster, are forming the creative spearhead. first release, autumn 2001: „deflowered world“ - a fuckin’ heavy, fuckin’ slow, but still groovin’ bastard, mixed up with these special ingredients - weed and SABBATH. second release, spring 2003: „...demonstrating heavieness“ - presenting GORILLA MONSOON stronger and harder and, of course, more fucked up then ever before. third release, split 10” with WEED IN THE HEAD. summer 2006 they entered the goat cunt laboratory to record the first full length album “Damage King”, mastered at absurd studios hamburg by schrödey. finally ARMAGEDDON MUSIC RECORDS made it, they released the cd in march 2006. a fucking great piece of music without compromise!!!
