Thursday 3 June 2021 COVID-19 CASE UPDATE Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) has issued a COVID alert for residents in the District. MLHD confirms investigations are underway after COVID-19 positive travellers visited a number of locations in the region.

One positive case visited on 19 May stopping at the following locations: • Coffee Peddler • Gundagai Craft Centre • Junque and Disorderly Antique Shop

MLHD is appealing to residents and anyone who has travelled to Gundagai on these dates to come forward for testing if they are symptomatic.

Symptoms include: • Fever • Dry cough • Sore throat • Runny or stuffy nose • Shortness of breath

“Anyone who has developed even mild symptoms of COVID-19 is asked to come forward for testing,” said Emma Field MLHD COVID-19 Coordinator. “We can’t emphasise enough how important it is for our community to be vigilant at this time.”

People can be tested at the GP Led Respiratory Clinic located at the Gundagai Medical Centre 134 Mount Street, South Gundagai. MLHD has also deployed the Mobile COVID-19 Testing Clinic to Gundagai to assist with testing. The mobile van will be located at the Gundagai Race Course from 10.00 am – 4.30 pm on Thursday 3 June and Friday 4 June. Anyone experiencing symptoms can drop in.

Across the region MLHD Testing Clinics are located in , Griffith, Hay, Leeton and . These clinics are available by appointment made through the COVID-19 Hotline on 1800 831 099. They are free and completely confidential.

Testing is also available through Commonwealth funded GP-Led Respiratory Clinics in Griffith, Deniliquin, Gundagai, , Wagga Wagga and Young. To book call HealthDirect on 1800 022 222.

WHO SHOULD GET TESTED? Anyone who feels unwell should be tested for COVID- 19. Testing is critical to help minimise the risk of community to community transmission and to stop the spread. COVID-19 SYMPTOMS Most common symptoms include fever and dry cough. Some people also experience sore throat, shortness of breath, or runny or stuffy nose. Other reported symptoms of COVID-19 include loss of smell, loss of taste, runny nose, muscle pain, joint pain, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting and loss of appetite.
