Nandan Nilekani

Nandan Nilekani currently holds the rank of Union Cabinet Minister and is the Chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) which aims to provide a unique identification number to all residents of India. Moderator Prior to that, Mr. Nilekani was the Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Technologies Limited which he co-founded Roger Martin in 1981. From the company’s inception to July 2009, he served Dean, Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto as Director of the Board. Other positions at Infosys include: Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, President, and Professor Martin has served as dean since 1998 and has accepted a Chief Operating Officer. third term which will finish on June 30, 2014. He is also a professor of strategic management at the Rotman School. A Nandan Nilekani also co-founded India’s National Association Canadian from Wallenstein, Ontario, Roger was formerly a of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) as well as the director of Monitor Company, a global strategy consulting firm chapter of the IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE). He is a based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Born in Bangalore, Mr. Nilekani received his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He is the author of ‘Imagining India’, which was one of the finalists for the FT-Goldman Sachs Book Award for the year 2009.

On May 31, 2011, the University of Toronto will be conferring the degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, upon Nandan Nilekani.
