2 Benefits
K-Display View 3.0 has significant improvements for productivity, interoperability, user interface (UI) and visualization over the previous major release.
The automatic feature discovery, using our new technology, provides quicker access to model information by identifying common model features. The automatic Bounding Box measurements, with moveable text, and a more efficient Thickness function allows for faster measurements and clearer screen captures. Enhanced tooltips make interrogating the model easier and faster.
New Delete capability can improve focus on specific model geometry by reducing clutter and confusion. The ability to Undo/Redo user actions of hiding, deleting, measurements and bounding box creation improves user productivity for undoing states and mistakes.
For continued interoperability, new support for STEP 242 to take advantage of Model-based Definition (MBD), reading compressed STEP files, and reading multiple partariants v have been added. Other readers have also been updated to their latest versions.
The UI and Tree structure has been streamlined with consistent context menus, behavior and enhanced tree entity status for improved user navigation and experience. The user now gets notification of required call to action, with background blurring, when certain function dialogs are opened.
Visualization capabilities have also been enhanced to take advantage of more screen space for better viewing of complex 3D parts. The model graphics were improved with crisper brighter rendering for screen captures. Finally, the Cutting Plane display is cleaned up by removing the cutaway wireframe display for clarity.
Productivity Enhancements
Automatic Feature Discovery Automatic feature discovery of holes, fillets, chamfers and faces during read. Features are grouped in tree and by graphic selection for faster model interrogation.

3 New Bounding Box Measurement Option New Bounding Box option allows user quick measurements for stock, work envelope, packaging sizes, volume, etc. Measurements appear in the tree.
The bounding box measurement text can be moved for clarity when screen captures are required. All measurements use 4 place decimal format.
Modal Thickness Function Quickly measure multiple thickness locations with modal thickness function.

4 Improved Tooltip Information Tooltips include feature holes, fillets, chamfer and Radius of Curvature information where applicable. Consistent diameter vs. radius measurements are based on entity type.
New Delete Function New Delete function can reduce geometric clutter and isolate the geometry of interest. Simplified file can be exported as .KCM file for continued viewing later.

5 New Undo/Redo Function New Undo/Redo allows quick undo of mistakes allowing for quickly going back and forth between previous states.
Improved Processing Speed 3.0 includes speed improvements for processing of Draft Angle, Hide and Unhide functions.
Interoperability
STEP AP242 New support to read STEP AP242 (Assemblies, B-Rep, Graphical PMI, Meshes) takes advantage of the MBD technology used in industry.
Compressed STEP Files New support to read Compressed STEP files (.stpZ).
Multiple Part Variants New support to read part variants when option set. Each CAD system may use a different name (configurations, scenes, catalogs, etc.) for this concept.

User Interface (UI) & Tree Structure Improved tree highlighting for hoover vs. select and entity display status with bolded text and hidden icon to help user understand and navigate quicker and easier.
Arrow keys now work in the tree window for navigation.

New “Hide All But This“ Function New Hide function added to context menu to hide all entity types in tree, but selected children, in single step for visualization and clarity.

8 Finish/Cancel Icons Finish/Cancel selectable buttons are presented for functions from Main menu that allow multiple entity selections.
Call to Action Blurring The background blurring brings attention to required action by the user for certain opened dialogs.

Consistent Zoom Functions & Improved Rendering Consistent Zoom behavior across 3D and 2D drawings. Zoom Fit takes advantage of more of graphic window. Model edges in Shaded render mode have been set to black for clearer edge display. Lighting for shaded rendering, axis indicator, and DynaHandle has been adjusted for improved display. X, Y, and Z labels have been added to 3D axis indicators.
Improved Cutting Plane Display For better clarity and clutter removal, the cutaway wireframe portion is no longer displayed.
