Welcome and introductions Faye Williams welcomed everyone to the forum. Louise Campbell gave the brief on housekeeping rules. Faye also introduced the Support Staffordshire staff members who were present; Mitchell Payne - Locality Officer, Rick Hill OBE - Volunteer Officer, Jan Matthews Voluntary Transport Officer, Richard Williams – Supported Volunteer Officer, Sandra Payne - DCEO 3. Presentation from Faye Williams – RAFT and Let’s Work Together – Support Staffordshire Let’s work together brings agencies together to help people live safe, independent and healthy lives by giving the tools, training and skills to become the eyes and ears for partner organisation, identifying risks or referring to services. Right Advice First Time is a referral system which enables organisations to refer their service users to others for help with issues, within their area of expertise. All referrals are received by Citizens Advice – South East Staffordshire whose staff are aware of all organisations able to assist. 4. Presentation from David Moore – On Sandfields Pumping Station - Chair, Lichfield Waterworks Trust. David gave a sterling presentation on this amazing piece of grade 2 listed industrial heritage. The trust has been a registered charity since 2015. For more information on the Sandfields pumping station which is located in Chesterfield Road Lichfield also details on how to join the trust. Round up of Attendees – At this point Faye invited all those present to introduce themselves :- Dr Laow gave a short speech on the Buddhist Temple based in Kings Bromley. David Clarke spoke about the Lichfield Food Bank so far they have given out 215,000 meals since they started. Annamarie Stowe from Woodhouse Farm and Garden informed us of the 3 1/2 acre walled garden where they have supported volunteers. They are also open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays. Esther Allen spoke about Spark who in 2015 took over the children’s centre in Burntwood where they are trying to fill the gap which children’s services have left. 6. Networking session 7. Presentation from Richard Williams – Support Staffordshire Richard spoke about the three hats which he wears within Support Staffordshire. Alongside the supported volunteering which he does on a Friday morning helping with the gardening team at Lichfield Cathedral he also works for Talent match helping 18-24 year olds who have been out of Training Education or Employment for 12 months or more. He has also organised a job’s fair at the library in Lichfield. 9. DATE OF NEXT FORUM MEETING – Thursday 21st September 2017 5pm – 7.30pm Venue – Lichfield Faye thanked everyone for attending. .
