McKAY GETS 200TH CAREER WIN Liberty second-year head coach RITCHIE McKAY won his 200th career game as a collegiate head coach when Liberty won 95-80 at Charleston Southern on Saturday, Feb. 14. He is 200-182 in his 13 seasons on the sidelines, and the second Big South coach to reach 200 career wins this season, join- ing UNC Asheville’s EDDIE BIEDENBACH. All of McKay’s wins have come at the Division I level and in five different conferences (Big Sky, Big South, Mountain West, Pac-10, WAC). McKay has led the Flames to at least 16 wins in both seasons as head coach, as well as a 26-3 record at the Vines ( =.897 winning percentage). Liberty’s 19 victories this year are the most by the Flames in the reg- ular-season since 1996-97, when LU won 21 regular-season contests before the Conference Tournament.

STEADY EDDIE UNC Asheville head coach EDDIE BIEDENBACH is now tied for second all-time in League history with 104 career regular-season Big South wins. He has matched Winthrop’s GREGG MARSHALL for the second-most Conference wins. Former Radford mentor RON BRADLEY is the all-time leader with 109 regular-season Big South wins. This season, Biedenbach recorded two milestone victories in less than two weeks of each other. He notched his 200th career coaching win Dec. 31 vs. Western Carolina, and collected his 100th regular-season Big South win Jan. 13 vs. High Point.
