BENDIX DEMOS TECHNOLOGY TO ARKANSAS TRUCKING ASSOCIATION October XX, 2009/Page 2 improved safety and reduced cost-per-mile. Bendix® brand air disc brakes and foundation drum brakes – from Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake, a joint venture between Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC and Dana Commercial Vehicle Products, LLC – are compatible in a variety of combinations and available on most North American tractors and trailers. The efficient Bendix air disc brakes and foundation drum brakes meet and exceed the newly mandated reduced stopping distance regulations. Bendix air disc brakes are proven to significantly reduce stopping distances for commercial vehicles; virtually eliminate brake fade with no degradation of stopping power; enable a passenger -like feel; and permit straight, stable stops due to high brake efficiency and low hysteresis. Extensive, ongoing field testing has validated the air disc brakes’ superior performance advantages relative to stopping distance, pad and rotor life, and brake fade. “Our current range of solutions – air and foundation – meet the new regulations without adding to the complexity of today’s vehicle brake system,” said Aaron Schwass, director for the foundation brake group at Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake. “Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake remains focused on its efforts to advance its braking technologies by adding cost-effective options that extend and enhance service life, while enhancing the safety of our North American roadways.
