Welcome to the Practical Pre-School Awards Guide 2017, in association with Primary Teacher Update, this year’s annual guide to all of the award-winning products for those who work with children aged between 0 and 11.
This year’s Practical Pre-School Awards ceremony, in association with Primary Teacher Update, took place on 22nd September in Birmingham. This guide contains full summaries about all of the products that achieved the much sought-after Overall Category Winner status, a Gold Award or a Silver Award, as well as listings of all those that achieved a Bronze Award.
This digital version has been produced to enable any education or child care professional to access the information and guidance contained within and to easily share this with colleagues. The Practical Pre-School Awards have been running for many years and have a strong reputation within the childcare and education sectors as reliable, informative and trustworthy. The categories for the Practical Pre-School Awards cover a range of specialist areas including: Teacher Resources, Equipment and Tools; Toys and Games for both the 0 to 3 and 3 to 5 age ranges; Childcare; Music and Multimedia; Electronic and New Technology; Books and Publications; Classic Toys and Games; Creative Play and Outdoor Toys and Equipment.
For the Primary Teacher Update Awards, the categories are divided as follows: Primary Teacher Update Toys and Games; Primary Teacher Update Books and Publications; Primary Teacher Update Creative Play; Primary Teacher Update All Other Resources and Primary Teacher Update Outdoor Toys and Equipment.
Again, this year we have been hugely impressed by the wide range of products which have been entered. The entries clearly highlight and emphasise the sheer range of imagination, creativity, expertise and devotion that have gone into producing new products. All of the products, as you will see when you read the guide, have been rigorously tested and marked by professionals in settings to attain their nal score and their nal award – possibly a Gold, a Silver, a Bronze or even Overall Category Winner.

The Primary Teacher Update Awards scheme, which runs 33 – 37 Primary Teacher Update in conjunction with the Practical Pre-School Awards, is designed to include Toys and Games products that are aimed at children in primary education, aged from five to 11-years-old.
