• Time Warner & AT&T offer internet – Speeds: – Time Warner: 15,20, up to 50 Mb – AT&T (Uverse) 18 Mb • Wireless: – “WiFi” – is the standard – often comes with your internet service – 802.11N = 54 Mb, 802.11ac (newest) = 500 Mb – SO: Faster than your “internet” – BUT: Shared with all wireless – so 2 devices = ~1/2 Smartphones • iPhone vs Android – Both do virtually the same things – Choose the one that your friends or family have (so they can help you) • Can replace: – Phone – Camera (videos) – GPS (Driving directions & walking) – Emergency notification – Phonebook – Calendar • Required: Data Plan!
