What the Manor Royal BID Delivered

Throughout the year the Manor Royal BID has continued to deliver core services and projects exclusively to Manor Royal companies. This includes: production and distribution of Manor Royal News, monthly eBulletins, website maintenance and social media management, free business listings, free to access Business Watch scheme, reduced cost training, easit travel scheme, free to access Jobs Board, representation and lobbying and a dedicated programme of events.

The Manor Royal BID has also provided:

Objective 1, Promote & influence

• 2,800 copies of Manor Royal News distributed each quarter and sent to every business • Over 1,600 people registered to receive monthly eBulletins • 10 key events organised throughout the year, including two Manor Royal People Conferences, Know Your Neighbour EXPO, Careers EXPO, Comedy Night, 6-a-side football, members Christmas event and Manor Royal Matters Conference & AGM attended by over 1,000 delegates • New dedicated Facebook page launched, weekly reach of circa 700 • Twitter followers increased to 3,041 (double previous levels), Instagram followers increased to 351 and over 500 members of the Manor Royal (closed) LinkedIN group. • Manor Royal represented on national industry bodies: The BID Foundation Council and British BIDs Advisory Board • Representations made on behalf of Manor Royal in respect of: Borough Council Local Plan Review, Masterplan Roundtable, Coast to Capital (Local Enterprise Partnership) LEP Local Industrial Strategy work. • Manor Royal BID a key deliver partner as part of the £60m Crawley Growth Programme alongside West County Council, Crawley Borough Council and Coast to Capital LEP.

Objective 2, Trade & save

• 86 businesses and 13,000 employees benefitted from transport discounts via easit, freely provided to Manor Royal businesses by the BID. (1) • Training cost savings amounted to over £30,000 (1) • 360 jobs expected to be advertised on the Manor Royal Jobs Board saving companies over £46,000 in normal job posting fees, freely provided to Manor Royal businesses by the BID. (1) • 215 volunteer / team building hours freely supported by the BID in partnership with Sussex Wildlife Trust (1) • 24 accredited training courses delivered in partnership with attended by over 268 people (1) • New partnership with BIFFA waste services launched to provide preferential rates to Manor Royal companies and improve recycling rates • New partnership with Natwest providing Manor Royal companies with free access to the online MentorLive service for employment law, HR and health & safety advice, monitoring and compliance. • Outdoor Digital Advertising Signage install completed and first advertisers secured • First phase of the Manor Royal Trail Project to create a network of small micro-park areas to improve seating, public realm and facilities completed with early work to support their planning and deliver. • Sustainable Energy Project (Re-Energise Manor Royal) progressed to test governance model. Additional funds secured by County Council (Your Energy Sussex) to include further study work and the inclusion of District Heat feasibility tests. • Development of detailed designs/schemes for various planned transport infrastructure improvements across the Business District as part of the Crawley Growth Programme. • Input into the development of designs for new “Super Hub” Bus Stops • Help to secure additional support from the Coast to Capital LEP to improve bus infrastructure • With the support of Metrobus, a new week day peak time bus service (Route 11) is introduced connecting , and directly to Manor Royal. Objective 4, Manage & maintain

• Dedicated Business Ranger Service (additional security). • Dedicated two-person Maintenance Team to improve standards of maintenance and upkeep. • 85 miles covered during grass cuts collecting 1.5 tonnes of cuttings. • Over 4 tonnes of waste collected, plus over 2 tonnes of fly tipping • Over 500 public realm reports issued concerning maintenance and other issues requiring action either by the Maintenance Team or Local Authorities. • Additional winter maintenance service deployed 13 times (to the end of January 2020) treating 65km of road surfaces ensuring all Manor Royal roads are clear of frost and ice. • Manor Royal Business Watch Scheme to all, including access to the secure Safer Premises Intranet (DISC) system • Work with West Sussex County Council on the detail of the proposed Parking Management Plan for Manor Royal • Chevrons at Gateway 3 cleaned • Weekly security bulletins and over 100 security alerts issued to DISC Members, membership freely provided to Manor Royal businesses by the BID

Awards, recognition & added value

• In addition to those funds being invested in Manor Royal as part of the £60m Crawley Growth Programme, the Manor Royal BID has attracted additional funds from The Arts Council of (for the Trail Project, Phase 1) and from other sources towards the cost of the Digital Signs. • The Manor Royal Digital Signs Project is recognised in the BID Foundation “Best Practice” report
