Day 01, SINGAPORE/KATHAMANDU (LUNCH/DINNER) Upon arrival in Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathamandu, transfer for Lunch before transfer to hotel to check in. Proceed for sightseeing to Swoyambhunath Stupa crowns a hillock to the west of Kathmandu. A massive white dome surrounded by 13 stage spire, the stupa is one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Nepal. According to Swayambhu Purana, the entire valley was once filled with an enormous lake out of which grew a lotus. The valley came to be known as swayambhu, meaning “ Self-Created” The name comes from an eternal self-existent flame (svyambhu) over which a stupa was later built. The Bodhisatva Manjushri had a vision of the lotus at Swayambhu and traveled there to worship it. Seeing that the valley can be good settlement and to make the site more accessible to human pilgrims, Manjushri cut a gorge a Chovar. The water drained out of the lake, leaving the valley in which Kathamanthu now lies. The lotus was transformed into a hill and the flower became the Swayambhunath Stupa.

Fifty-five window palace of brick and wood. The square is one of the most charming architectural show pieces of the Valley as it highlights the ancient arts of Nepal. The main items of interest in the Drubar Square are: The Golden Gate: is said to be the most beautiful and richly moulded specimen of its kind in the entire world\. The door is surmounted by a gigure of the goddesss Kali and Garuda (the mythical main bird) and attended by two heavenly nymphs. Its is also embellished with mythical creatures of marvelous intricacy, In the words of Percy Brown, an eminent English art critic and historian, the Golden Gate is the most lovely piece of art in the whole Kingdown. The gate was erected by King Ranjit Malla and is the entrance of the main courtyard of the Palace of Fifty five Windows. The Palace of Fifty Five Windows: This magnificent palace was built during the regign of King Yakshya Malla in A.D. 1427 and was subsequently remodeled by King Bhupatindra Malla in the seventeenth century. Among the brick walls with their gracious setting and sculptural design, is a balcony with Fifty five Windows, considered to be a unique masterpiece of woodcarving. Next Visit Pashupatinath: The holiest shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, Pashupatinath is one of the four most important religious sites in Asia for devotees of Shiva Built in the 5th Century and later renovated by Malla Kings, the site itself is said to have existed from the beginning of the millennium when a Shiva lingam was discovered in the forest. The largest temple complex in Nepal, it stretches on both sides of the Bagmati River which is considered holy by Hindus. The main pagoda style temple has a gilded roof, four sides covered in silver and wood carvings of the finest quality. Bouddhanath is among the largest stupas in South Asia and it has become the focal point of Buddhism in Nepal. The white mound looms thirty-six meters overhead. The Stupa is located on the ancient trade route to Tibet and Tibetean merchants rested and offered prayers here are many around Bouddhanath.
