What’s Activity Title Comments Needed Gathering Shosholoza Shosholoza: Free play and exploration time on the large drum. Play Gathering Drum with (Exploration) with two hands, two fingers, scratches, fists, swishes make circles, Drum Hello Song demonstrating many possibilities. Track Tideo Tideo: (Parent Tip) Introduce the hello song by singing “Time for music tideo”, accompanying on Guitar/Ukulele guitar or ukulele. • Sing “Hello ____ tideo” for each toddler’s name. (Track) • “Cool breeze” – blow on toddler’s neck, and pause. • “Tight squeeze” – big hug and pause • “Shivers” – Lightly tickle all over. Bouncing Humpty Parents sit on floor with toddler on top of bent knees. Teacher holds a Demo Doll Dumpty Game doll to demonstrate the action. (Track) • Bounce toddler to the beat until “fall.” Straighten your legs to lower the tot. • Keep bouncing baby with legs straight until “again.” Make a vocal glissando upward on “Oooooo” while moving knees back up to start over. • Encourage all to sing goodbye to the demonstration doll.

What’s Activity Title Comments Needed Movement B-I-N-G-O • Ask parents to form a large circle. Track • Walk to the right (or to the left) to the beat while singing the first half of the song. • Face the center and take little steps forward (one for each elongated letter) on “B-I-N-G” • On “O” parents hold under their toddlers arms and slide them backwards. TIP: Once everyone is back in the original large circle, it is fun to have the parents pick up their toddler and spin them. Great for vestibular stimulation, helping balance and coordination. Solo Singing Little Clown Little Clown: Pop-Up (Parent Tip) • Say “One, Two, Three, sit down with me” to have everyone sit in a circle. Clown • Pat (patsch) the beat on the legs and sing “Little Clown.” (Track) • At the end of the song, everyone sings “Come out” and the clown pops out. It may also be successful to encourage the tot to sing “out” or slide their voice from low to high to make the clown come out. • Sing a descending scale from high to low and sing “down, down, down, down….“ as you lower the clown. • Move quickly from child to child, so all will have a turn without waiting too long. Stand behind, placing the clown between the children so all can see.

TIP: If they do not sing, ask everyone to help them with the singing. Parent Tip: Please be patient with your child. If there is a vocal response we

echo their singing. And He And He Dances: Dances Sing after the clown pops up the first time. Use the song for movement and to draw everyone’s attention back as needed throughout the Little Clown activity. Instrument Jackson’s Distribute the backpacks.
