The agreement covers a total of 19 aircraft – eleven in Ethiopian Airlines’ existing fleet of B737NG plus eight new aircraft on order – providing repair cycle management and pool access coverage. This would be supported by the combined ICS capabilities and experience of both ADAT and SR Technics. Pratt & June 2012 South African Airways Technical (SAAT) signed an agreement with P&W to Whitney perform JT9D-7R4G2 repair work at SAAT’s Johannesburg facility. P & W would also work with SAAT to expand the facility’s aftermarket services in the future. South African Airways Technical is reckoned to be the largest and most advanced full- service MRO organisation on the African continent. A J Walter July 2012 AlMasria Universal Airlines, the Egyptian value-based airline, awarded A J Aviation Walter Aviation a multi-million dollar contract to provide component power-by-the- hour support initially for its existing fleet of two A320 and one A321 aircraft. A main base kit was to also be located in to further support daily operational needs. Lufthansa October Ethiopian Airlines selected Lufthansa Technik to provide component support for Technik 2012 its modern long-haul B787 fleet. The Total Component Support TCS contract was to run for a term of ten years. Sabena October Was awarded a 5-year contract by FastJet Plc to provide maintenance support for technics 2012 the airline’s fleet of Airbus A319s following a tender process. Under the agreement, Sabena technics was to provide FastJet, Africa’s first low-cost carrier, with engineering services and comprehensive material support for components, standard and cabin parts, and consumables. Sabena technics would also establish local operations at FastJet’s base in Dar Es Salam, Tanzania, to provide line and light maintenance services. AJW Aviation May 2013 Was chosen by , Egypt’s only low-cost carrier, to provide power- by-the-hour support and leased inventory for two of its A320 aircraft. Air Arabia Egypt is a joint venture between Air Arabia; - the first and largest low-cost carrier in the Middle East and North Africa - and the travel and tourism company Travco Group.
