DENVER BRONCOS ANDRE CALDWELL CONFERENCE CALL TRANSCRIPT (3/22/12)

On signing with the Broncos “I feel I fit in well with their receiver core. I can help make this team better and we can make a run for it.”

On how much of a factor QB was in his decision to sign with Denver “It was a big factor. He’s a veteran who knows how to win games. He knows how to put players in positions to be their best. He gets the best out of his receivers. That played a big part of it and that’s a big reason why I came.”

On what he knows about what it will be like to play with QB Peyton Manning “I know a couple people who have played with him. He’s a work‐a‐holic. He likes to study film, he likes to go out there and throw and he likes to get better every day. I heard there is nothing easy about it. He is going to work your tail off, and that’s what I’m ready for.”

On if it is bittersweet that he won’t get to play with former college teammate “Tebow is a good friend of mine. I played with him two years in college and kept in touch with him. I would have loved to be here with him but you can’t be sad playing with Peyton Manning.”

On if he thinks he still has an upward curve on his development “I don’t think I reached my full potential when I was in Cincinnati. I think I have a long ways to go, and I think it’s going to happen here in Denver. They have great coaches and they have some great players around that will help me improve every day.”

On if he would be open to returning kicks “I’m all for doing whatever it takes to win a ballgame. Return kicks, return punts—whatever they want me to do. I’m very open to it.”

On if he started talking to the Broncos before they signed QB Peyton Manning “Yes, we were in contact with them going back and forth. It got real serious after they got Manning. It heated up and I was all on board after they signed Peyton.”

On if not signing QB Peyton Manning would have impacted his decision to come to Denver “Yeah, that had a little play in it. Everybody knows with Tebow there was more of a running‐style team. They didn’t spread the ball around as much. It was a major impact and it was a big influence in me coming here.”

On how much his brother, Reche, has helped him over his career “He helps me tremendously. From high school on, he has been a big influence. He’s helped me get better. Coming into the NFL he told me what to expect and how to approach certain situations. He’s been a big brother and he’s been a mentor for my whole football career.”
