NEW OR INTERESTING RECORDS OF BRAZILIAN BR YOPHYTES, 11

ALFONS SCHAFER-VERWIMp 1

Further collections of bryophytes in by the author and his wife Inge Verwimp have resulted in 23 species which seem to be new to Brazil. Firstly reported for South America are Plagioehila bidens Gott., P. heterophylla Lindenb., P. masearena Gott., and Weissiajamaieensis (Mitt.) Grout. Hypnum lindbergii is new to the Southern Hemisphere. Some rarely collected bryophytes in Brazil are included. The following new combinations are proposed: Sematophyllum peetinatum (Herz.) Schiifer-Verw. and Traehyxiphium drepanophyllum (Geh. & Hampe) Schiifer-Verw. The perianth and oil bodies of Colura greig-smithii Jovet-Ast are figured for the first time. All specimens are deposited in the private herbarium of the author, duplicate specimens in different herbaria of the specialists respectively, and in SP. Abbreviations: SV ...
