John Miller has written authorized biographies of Sir Ralph Richardson and Dame , and is now working on a life of Sir Peter Ustinov. He collaborated with Sir John Gielgud on his memoirs for BBC radio and TV, and assisted Sir John with the two celebrated books that resulted from those efforts, An Actor and his Time and Acting Shakespeare. Television viewers will remember Mr. Miller’s two-hour BBC visit with Sir John, taped at the actor’s stately pavilion in Buckinghamshire, which was co-produced by WNET and aired in 1989 on both sides of the Atlantic.

Mr. Miller will talk with John F. Andrews, president of The Shakespeare Guild, which has presented its Gielgud Award for Excellence in the Dramatic Arts to such luminaries as , Zoe Caldwell, Dame Judi Dench, Sir Derek Jacobi, and Sir Ian McKellen.
