*Argentina’s Emiliano Grillo defeated Kevin Na with a birdie-4 on the second playoff hole (No. 18). The 2015 Frys.com Open featured the first playoff of the 2015-16 PGA TOUR Season and fourth in tournament history. There were 17 playoffs in 2014-15, the second most in a PGA TOUR season (18, in 2011 was the most).

Emiliano Grillo Emiliano Grillo earned his first career PGA TOUR victory in his seventh career PGA TOUR start at the age of 23 years, 1 months, 4 days.

With his victory, Grillo became the first player to win in his first start as an official PGA TOUR member since Russell Henley at the 2013 Sony Open in Hawaii.

Grillo became the sixth player from Argentina to win on the PGA TOUR joining Roberto De Vicenzo, José Cóceres, Angel Cabrera, Andres Romero and Fabian Gomez. Grillo is the first Argentine to win since Gomez at the 2015 FedEx St. Jude Classic.

With his win, Grillo became the first rookie to win on the PGA TOUR since Nick Taylor at the 2014 Sanderson Farms Championship.

In five starts on the PGA TOUR in 2014-15, Grillo recorded two top-10s, highlighted by a playoff loss at the .

Grillo extends exempt status through the 2017-18 PGA TOUR Season.

Grillo earns 500 FedExCup points to take the season’s initial lead in the race for the FedExCup.

Grillo wins in his first appearance at the Frys.com Open. Since its inception, Troy Matteson (2009), Jonas Blixt (2012) and Sangmoon Bae (2014-15) won the event in their first start. Mike Weir claimed the tournament’s inaugural title in 2007 at Grayhawk GC.

Grillo becomes the fourth player to make the Frys.com Open his maiden PGA TOUR victory, joining Bryce Molder (2011), Jonas Blixt (2012) and Jimmy Walker (2013-14)

Grillo becomes the fourth international winner of the Frys.com Open and first from Argentina.

At age 23, Grillo’s win looks to continue the trend of young winners on TOUR. The 2014-15 PGA TOUR Season set a new season record for most wins by players in their 20s since 1970 with 24.

Last month, Grillo won the Web.com Tour Championship with a 25-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole. A 23-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole at the Frys.com Open secured his spot in the tournament playoff.

The Web.com Tour alum secured his PGA TOUR card via the Web.com Tour Finals (fourth on the 2015 Web.com Tour priority list) where he finished ninth at the Hotel Fitness Championship, T2 at the Small Business Connection Championship at River Run and a victory at the Web.com Tour Championship, where he became the second- youngest winner of the Web.com Tour Championship (David Duval was 21 years, 11 months in 1993).

In search of his second career PGA TOUR victory (2011 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open), Na lost on the second playoff hole to finish solo second in his fourth Frys.com Open start. After back-to-back, 7-under 64s at CordeValle GC in 2013-14, Na finished T3. He also made starts in 2007 (T61), 2008 (MC) and 2011 (T15).

Na, who finished 25th in 2014-15 FedExCup points, collected seven top-10 finishes last season, his second-most in a season (nine in 2009). His best finish last season was a T2 at the CIMB Classic last November.

Tyrone Van Aswegen Van Aswegen recorded a career-best T3 finish. His previous best PGA TOUR showing was a T15 at the 2015 Barracuda Championship (Modified Stableford format).

The morning of the final round, Van Aswegen woke up with dizziness and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. After receiving fluids for severe dehydration and vertigo, Van Aswegen returned to the course for his tee time.

His sophomore season on TOUR in 2014-15 included eight made cuts in 20 starts, with a T15 at the Barracuda Championship his lone top-25 finish. He Wrapped up the season No. 191 in the FedExCup standings, failing to advance to the Playoffs for the second consecutive season. Finished T5 at the Web.com Tour Championship which moved him into 17th position on the Web.com Tour Finals 25 money list.

Justin Thomas Thomas recorded a career-best T3. His previous best PGA TOUR finish was T4 on two occasions, the 2014 Sanderson Farms Championship and 2015 Quicken Loans National.

This marked Thomas’ third Frys.com Open start: 2015 (MC) and 2014 (T72)

One of four nominees for 2015-15 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year, Thomas recorded seven top-10s to lead the rookie class, and was 16th in Adjusted Scoring Average (70.083), the best for a PGA TOUR rookie last season.

Jason Bohn Bohn (T3) recorded his best finish in four starts at the Frys.com Open. Bohn previously missed the cut at the Frys.com Open in 2012 and last season. He finished T40 at CordeValle GC in 2013-14.

By 28 spots, Bohn’s 40th-place finish on the 2014-15 FedExCup points list marked his best finish in the FedExCup era. In achieving that position, he claimed six top-10 finishes in 27 starts, two of which were runner-up finishes (T2/Sanderson Farms Championship, T2/Colonial National Invitational Tournament).

Earlier this year, Bohn recorded a career-best 9-under 61 in the third round of the 2015 Greenbrier Classic, ultimately finishing T13.

Miscellaneous Notes In his attempt to become the second wire-to-wire winner at the Frys.com open, Brendan Steele recorded a 4-over 76 in the final round to finish T17.

In his Frys.com Open debut, Justin Rose recorded rounds of 67-69-68-72—276 to finish T6.

Rory McIlroy finished T26 in his Frys.com Open debut.

2014-15 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year posted rounds of 70-69-70-69—278 to finish T17.
