stitch a romper suit Download and print the pattern at 1 www.sewmag.co.uk/templates. Cut two body pieces from fabric, place right sides together and pin the two side edges. Sew a 1cm seam on each side, and press out. Zig zag or overlock the edges if required. With right sides still facing in, fold the 2 edge of the leg section over by 1cm, then 1cm again. Press, pin and topstitch the hem close to the edge. Cut 30cm of 4mm wide elastic, attach a small safety pin to one end and thread it through the channel. Remove the pin and stitch the ends either side. Repeat for the other leg. Pin the gusset section together and stitch to close and create the two leg holes. To create the neckline, fold the edge 3 over by 1cm, then 2cm. Press and topstitch close to the edge to create a channel. Snip 15cm of 1cm wide elastic, thread it through the channel and stitch into each end. Repeat for the other side. Cut 1m of bias binding and press 4 lengthways, ensuring the two sides are lined up. Find the halfway point and pin the fabric to the armhole, sandwiched between the binding. Working from either side of this point, continue to secure the tape to the ends. Topstitch the binding from end to 5 end, sewing close to the edge of the tape but ensuring both sides are caught within the stitch. Repeat for the other armhole.
