Find, lock, or erase a lost Android device

If you lose an Android phone or tablet, or Wear OS watch, you can find, lock, or erase it. If you've added a Account to your device, Device is automatically turned on. Learn how to make sure that your device can be found if it gets lost.

To find, lock, or erase an Android phone, that phone must:

• Be turned on • Be signed in to a • Be connected to mobile data or Wi-Fi • Be visible on • Have Location turned on • Have Find My Device turned on

Go to android.com/find and sign in to your Google Account. • If you have more than one phone, click the lost phone at the top of the screen. • If your lost phone has more than one user profile, sign in with a Google Account that's on the main profile. On the map, you'll get info about where the phone is. • The location is approximate and might not be accurate. • If your phone can't be found, you'll see its last known location, if available. 4. Pick what you want to do. If needed, first click Enable lock & erase. • Play sound: Rings your phone at full volume for 5 minutes, even if it's set to silent or vibrate. • Secure device: Locks your phone with your PIN, pattern, or password. If you don't have a lock, you can set one. To help someone return your phone to you, you can add a message or phone number to the lock screen. • Erase device: Permanently deletes all data on your phone (but might not delete SD cards). After you erase, Find My Device won't work on the phone. Important: If you find your phone after erasing, you'll likely need your Google Account password to use it again. 1. Make sure your iPhone or iPad is connected to Wi-Fi. (If you're low on power, plug-in the device as well.) 2. Launch Settings from the Home screen. 3. Tap on the Apple ID banner at the top. 4. Tap iCloud. 5. Scroll down, tap iCloud Backup. 6. Tap the switch to turn it on. 7. Tap Back Up Now.

Should be unlocked within 60 days if your account is in good standing.

To unlock an AT&T phone, Android® tablet, or mobile hotspot to use on another network, make sure your: • Device has been active for at least 60 days (if you bought it on an installment plan or term agreement). • Account doesn’t have a past-due balance. • Contracts are completed and any installment plans linked to the device are paid off. • Device isn't reported as lost, stolen, or involved with fraud.

• Check your email or text to see if we approved your unlock request. If you don’t see an email, check your spam folder.

• Go to att.com/unlockdevicestatus and follow the prompts.

Good to know:

• It can take us up to 48 hours to confirm your eligibility after you submit your unlock

request. 1

• If you don’t follow the link in your confirmation email within 24 hours, we’ll have to

cancel your unlock request, and you’ll have to start over.
