2016 PERRIER JOUËT, Chardonnay//Meunier, Epernay- Champagne, France Pierre Nicolas Perrier, an Epernay-based supplier and his 19-year-old wife Rose Adelaïde (Adèle) Jouët, the daughter of a Calvados producer, founded Perrier-Jouët in 1811, a year after their wedding. Delicate, elegant and balanced. Notes of cherry, plum, lemon and bergamot on the nose, with notes of butter madelaine cakes and vanilla sugar to follow. 2017 CLOSERIE DES ALISIERS, Chardonnay, Chablis, France Stéphane Brocard decided to leave his father’s famous Brocard to set up his own. He buys the best grapes from friends around and makes the wine in their and bottles it there. This Chablis is a brilliant colour with green highlights. The nose is precise, pure, chiselled, with slightly iodized notes of citrus fruit. The mouth has a classic structure crunchy and delicious, with notes of citrus fruit and minerality. The finish is very appetizing, with stony, salty minerality. 45

2017 ‘Martin’ MÜLLER, Grüner Vetliner, Gelber Muskateller, Sauvignon Blanc, Kremstal, Austria The winery started off in 1936 with the Müller family with Leopold Müller in the forefront. The wine shows off light green-yellow in the glass, fresh grapes and typical Veltliner spice in the nose, elderberry and currant on the palate. 30

2017‘Cullerot’ CELLER DEL ROURE, Chardonnay/Verdil/PX/Macabeo, Valencia, Spain VEG This rich white is vegan friendly and 60% of must is fermented in clay amphoras under ground and 40% in stainless steel. Cullerot is then aged on its lees for 5-6 months in the same clay jars. This ageing process, which follows ancient traditions, provides the wine with a truly complex and unique character. Ripe tangerines from the Verdil, sweet spice from the PX, balanced with fresh and mouth-watering citrus, melon and a touch of biscuit from the Chardonnay and Macabeo. 2017‘L‘Outsider‘, DOMAINE ST MARIE DES CROZES, , Languedoc, France ORG Vivid floral, blackcurrant and raspberry fruit aromas. Rich, ripe fruits flavours with hints of mocha, caramel & liquorice. Run with fantastic energy by the young Christelle Alias, this 38-ha estate lie at the foot of the Montagne d’Alaric in the northerly, cooler part of the Corbières. 32

2017‘Kieselstein’, CLAUS PREISINGER, Zweigelt, Burgenland, Austria BIO/VEG Claus first started making wine with this father as a hobby, but after working with Hans Nittnaus, a neighbouring winemaker for a few years, decided that wine was his true calling. He was also one of the first Austrian winemakers to experiment with Amphorae and Georgian fermentation techniques. Ten months of ageing in used oak barrels help integrate the flavours. Expect juicy blackberries, plums and a delicate herbaciousness. 36

2016 ‘La Xara’, BODEGAS PONCE, Garnacha, Manchuela, Spain BIO/ORG/VEG Ruby red in colour, an attractive, fragrant and floral Garnacha with fresh wild raspberry, cinnamon and a delicate hint of black pepper. With indigenous yeast the spontaneous fermentation takes place with stems in open-top wood tanks and then 10 months ageing in big French used oak. 35

2016 'Le Temps est Venu' DOMAINE STÉPHANE OGIER, Grenache/Syrah, Côtes du Rhône, France Stephane got his first 100 points from Robert Parker when he was only 22 years old! Since then he has only improved even more. Stephane takes his inspiration from Chambolle-Musigny in Burgundy which has a very floral perfume with silky smooth tannins, he worked there for a number of years. Beautifully fine aromas of black and red cherries. Very smooth and elegant with a very long, fresh finish that will make you order a second bottle! 35

2015‘Bajancas’, DOURO FAMILY ESTATES Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Douro, Portugal Complex aroma of red fruits and minerals. Soft tannins and appealing freshness. Long length with notes of toast and coffee. Douro Family Estates was founded in 2007 as an "association" of "small" wine producing families from the estates of the Douro Valley, the oldest delimited region in the , and consists of four family estates: Quinta dos Poços, Quinta do Soque (see wine from these guys below), Quinta das Bajancas and Brites Aguiar. 35

Janare is a local word for a friendly witch, and a nod to the region’s famous history of alleged witchcraft! La guardiense is a co-op that was founded in 1960 and the Janare range is their heart! 38

2016 BARALE, , Piedmont, Italy This classic grape is selected from around the village of Barolo and aged for 12 months in small french oak casks. Aromas of violet and raspberry with light, delicate hints of spice. Fresh, crushed red fruit flavours on the palate leading to a long, lingering finish. 40

2013 QUINTA DO SOQUE, /Tinta Roriz/Touriga Franca/Touriga Nacional, Douro, Portugal Deep ruby colour, bursting with the aromas of red fruits and spices. Appealing in the mouth, with elegant fruits and great freshness. The tannins are soft but present, with great intensity and persistence. This an intense and elegant wine, ideal with red meats and strong cheeses. 35

2012 ‘Amarone’, MONTE ZOVO, //Rondinella, Veneto, Italy Full-bodied, soft and warm, exalting the senses with its state of constant evolution.Its slightly bitter, and yet soft taste is reminiscent of almonds, of mature plums, of violets and of drying cherries combined with the fascinating hint of raisin and rasberries.
