LA CHICANA FESTIVAL LINEUP Celebrating All will be screened at RA, InfoZone Theater-4th floor FRIDAY, JAN. 24 6:30 p.m. - La Chicana (NR) by Sylvia Morales This film traces the history of Chicana and Mexican women from the Year of pre-Columbian times to the present. It covers women's role in Aztec society, their participation in the 1810 struggle for Mexi- can independence, their involvement in the U.S. labor strikes La Chicana in 1872, their contributions to the 1910 Mexican revolution Year of La Chicana film festival honors the past, and their leadership in contemporary civil rights causes. Using present and future by sharing stories of Chicana , engravings and historical footage, La Chicana shows activism through film.
