Categorized as a Class II port, port of Tanjung Intan is a commercial port managed by the state-owned company PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III also known as Pelindo III (Persero) Cilacap Branch. It is the only general port in Java’s southern coast and serves as a sea economic gate for Southern and and Yogyakarta, and to Southern West Java for export-import and inter island trade. The port has Pilotage and Towage services available and has sea channel length 9.5 nautical miles with depth -7.5 to -11.5 MLWS and 250 meter wide.

Port Performance

Located in Cilacap district, Central Java Indonesia, Cilacap has many industrial plants such as PT Holchim Indonesia (cement factory), PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja (fertilizer factory), PT Dharmapala Usaha Sukses (Sugar factory), Steam power plant (PLTU) and Pertamina refinery. Main commodities load and discharge at Tanjung Intan port are dry bulk cargo, such as coal, clinker, fertilizer, soybean, sugar and wheat, and other commodities such as cement, cattle and fuel oils. The Port of Tanjung Intan contains a total of 8 berths with total length 833 meters, 5 open storage sites with total area 30,000 m2, and 3 sheds with total area 7,100 m2.

Stevedoring

Stevedoring activities organised by third parties (authorised stevedoring company) in coordination with the Labour Union Association (TKBM) administered by the Port Authority (KSOP) Office. The owner/shipper can also discharge their own cargo by contacting the Labour Union Association directly.

Hinterland Information

Most of the cargo traded in the port is from industrial plants located in Cilacap District such as cement, fertilizer, sugar, wheat flour. Cargo movement from the port to Cilacap district, Southern Central Java, Yogyakarta, and southern West Java is connected via road access.
