For Immediate Release, April 23rd 2021 The Pioneers Of Outsider Art Rock TODD RUNDGREN & SPARKS Reunite For New Recording Los Angeles, CA - It’s a music hipster’s dream come true, a pairing that will make legions of fans weak at the knees. A recorded collaboration between the ever-innovating producer, songwriter and Rock Hall Of Fame nominee Todd Rundgren and one of the most eclectic, quixotic and highly celebrated musical acts in modern music, Sparks! Not since Sparks’ Rundgren-produced 1971 debut album have these two titanically talented acts worked so closely together. And now Rundgren and Sparks are proud to release “Your Fandango,” the third single from Rundgren’s forthcoming Space Force album, which also features collaborations with Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo and hip hop artist Narcy, and the timing couldn’t be better. Rundgren just recently completed a highly publicized and hugely successful virtual tour, the “Clearly Human” Tour, while Ron and Russell Mael have been generating their own buzz ahead of the Cannes premiere of the Sparks-penned movie musical ‘Annette’ (starring Adam Driver & Marion Cotillard) and the full-length, Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Baby Driver) directed documentary ‘The Sparks Brothers’ about their career. In fact, it was the filming of Rundgren’s interview for the latter that reunited him with Sparks and formed the idea of a collaboration. The result is a masterful piece of polyphonic pop that elegantly layers Spanish music, Neopolitan cantatas, baroque fugues and glam rock for one truly epic composition. “It’s been a truly heartwarming experience to once again be working with Todd, our first-ever producer, after a brief 50-year hiatus.” - Ron and Russell Mael “It’s been a long way since Simple Ballet, but we finally got the old dance troupe back together!” - Todd Rundgren Stream the single: HERE In addition to making the track available on all digital platforms, acclaimed Finnish media artist Liisa Vääriskoski has created a mesmerizing and eye-popping video.

Presents MAN UP A film by Ben Palmer (88 min., UK, 2015) Language: English Distribution Publicity Bonne Smith Star PR 1352 Dundas St. West Tel: 416-488-4436 Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M6J 1Y2 Fax: 416-488-8438 Tel: 416-516-9775 Fax: 416-516-0651 E-mail: [email protected] E-mail: [email protected] www.mongrelmedia.com @MongrelMedia MongrelMedia LOGLINE When Nancy is mistaken for Jack’s blind date under the clock at Waterloo Station, she decides to take fate into her own hands and just go with it. What could possibly go wrong? MAN UP is an honest, heart-warming romantic comedy about taking chances and rolling with the consequences. One night, two people, on a first date like no other... SHORT SYNOPSIS Meet Nancy (Lake Bell): 34, single, hung-over, and exhausted by her well meaning but clueless friends’ continual matchmaking. 10 times bitten, 100 times shy, after an especially disastrous set-up at her friends’ engagement party, Nancy is basically done with dating. She’s reached the end of her rope, and is more than happy to hole up, seal up, and resign herself to a life alone. That is until Jack (Simon Pegg) mistakes Nancy for his blind date under the clock at Waterloo Station, and she does the unthinkable and just… goes with it. Because what if pretending to be someone else finally makes her man up, and become her painfully honest, awesomely unconventional, and slightly unstable true self? Best just to let the evening unfold, roll with the consequences, and see if one unpredictable, complicated, rather unique night can bring these two messy souls together.

Song Exploder Sparks - This Town Ain’t Big Enough for Both of Us Episode 211 Hrishikesh: You’re listening to Song Exploder, where musicians take apart their songs and piece by piece tell the story of how they were made. My name is Hrishikesh Hirway. (“This Town Ain’t Big Enough for Both of Us” by SPARKS) Russell: We're big, uh, cinema buffs, so I think we've always had this kind of rationale that in making pop songs, you're able to make the most elaborate movie in your own mind in a three-minute song. Hrishikesh: That’s Russell Mael. He and his brother Ron Mael are the legendary duo, Sparks, from Los Angeles. Over the last 50 years, they’ve released 25 albums. They’ve collaborated with Giorgio Moroder and Franz Ferdinand, and influenced bands like Joy Division, Faith No More, Björk, and countless others. There’s a new documentary about them called The Sparks Brothers made by one of my favorite directors, Edgar Wright. His films include Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Baby Driver, and Scott Pilgrim vs the World. The new documentary premiered at Sundance this year, and comes out in theaters this Friday, June 18th. Here’s what Edgar Wright says in the intro of the film. Edgar: Sparks. How did this glam rock anomaly become a band with a career spanning 5 decades? How can Ron and Russell Mael be successful, underrated, hugely influential and overlooked all at the same time? And where does one even start with 25 studio albums and nearly 500 songs? Hrishikesh: We’re gonna start with just one song.

  • Baby Driver Theater
Baby driver theater Continue Delivering a standing ovation for a decent performance involves much more than just acting. Learn how costumes, lighting, music and special effects help bring the scene to life. Advertising Advertising Advertising Everyone Knows by now doesn't put Baby in the corner - in complete departure from this link, Baby Driver stars Ansel Elgort as a young driver for a killer cast of criminals, even when he's trying to escape their lifestyle. Elgort plays Baby in this solo feature from Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz), in a cast filled with Kevin Spacey, Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx and Jon Bernthal. Lily James stars as love child interest Deborah, the cute girl he meets at the diner and who makes him want to live by the law. The film debuted in the Southwest and already draws comparisons with everything from Mad Max to La La Land (by the way, is it a musical? no, it's not.). It's packed with high-speed car chases (in the coolest cars imaginable), roaring music and dialogue straight from the heist movies of your dreams. This trailer is really good, but it's not surprising because the movie is really very good. Very well. That's really good. - Kumail Nanjiani (@kumailn) March 12, 2017 Trailer even includes an attractive predictable Another job and I did, but at this point you'll be halfway into it and devour the classic cliches. Variety's Peter DeBruge called the film a messy but explosive, and Vulture's Jada yuan compared it to blasting your cool friend's record-breaking collection in your car at 100 mph on the Atlanta Freeway while cops are close on all sides.

  • A U T E U R S T Y L E // Edgar Wright Most Known Pieces of Work
A U T E U R S T Y L E // Edgar Wright most known pieces of work are Scott Pilgrim vs the World, Baby Driver, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, and The World’s End. Wright directed many short films, first starting on a Super-8 camera and later on a Video-8 camcorder won in a competition on the television program. Wright attended the Bournemouth and Poole College of Art (now Arts University Bournemouth) and received an ND in Audio-Visual Design. His debut film was a western spoof called A Fistful of FIngers which was actually filmed with no budget and all local teen actors, which is quite impressive. He has won very many awards for the way he is able to combine comedy, romance, and even fantasy into enjoyable well-known films. He is highly respected for his screenplays for these reasons. Edgar Wright reflects his comedic filming and editing styles in most of his films, which he does with quick cuts, match cuts, quick action montage, close ups, creative enters/exits, and zooms. Wright’s films tend to move at a quick pace, with such quick shortcuts that you would not actually understand what is happening unless you had context. What is good about Edgar Wright, is that he is able to communicate so much in such a small amount of time which is important if you are making a comedic film. We wanted to bring these techniques used by Edgar Wright into a film that does not reflect his style at all to create something new and more dynamic.
