Guide to Safe Scouting: This is a great resource to ensure that we’re providing a safe and GS108 What Does it Really Say? enjoyable program for all. It’s important that we don’t rely on “leader lore” and know what it really says (and doesn’t say.) Are you in a unit where the same leaders are doing everything? GS109 Leader Burn Out With this course, you’ll get some ideas on how to keep your volunteers and leaders chugging along. Recruiting is a never ending job. Too many units rely on recruiting at the beginning of the school GS115 Year‐Round Recruiting year. Learn how to develop a program to recruit Scouts throughout the year. No matter their age, Scouts love shooting sports. From belt loops to merit badges and beyond, find out about the various shooting sports GS116 All About Shooting Sports offered, discover various shooting activities, and learn about adult training required. Every Scout will remember the rain gutter regattas, space derbies CS206 Derbies and Races and pinewood derbies, especially when you plan them well. Get ideas on how to make your derbies and races better. Do you feel like there’s never enough time to accomplish what you Making the Most of Your CS208 have planned? Get some ideas on how to be more efficient with the Meeting Time limited time you have with your Scouts. Pizzazz for Pack/Den CS210 If you need ideas on how to bring new life into your pack/den, this is Meetings the course for you. If it’s not for the boys, it’s for the birds! Every Scout wants to sleep in a tent and roast marshmallows. This CS211 Planning Great Campouts course will help youdevelop a plan to make it even more enjoyable for all. There are always meetings when the Cubs have no interest in what CS212 Quick & Easy Games you have planned. Try some of these easy games to help them (and you) burn some steam and re‐focus. A young Scout can learn a lot about himself by performing simple songs and skits. It builds self‐confidence that many boys lack in a CS213 Songs, Skits & Puppets very easy, relaxed atmosphere. Learn how to integrate these tools in your program.

Now that you’ve raised a young Tiger Cub to the rank of Webelos, CS214 Webelos to Scout Transition how do you give them the tools to succeed as a Boy Scout? This course will help you understand the whole process of Webelos to Boy Scout. (Same as CC506; in same classroom.) Most Cub Scouts can’t wait to earn the privilege of having a pocket CS215 Whittlin’ Chip knife. Here’s how you can teach them to handle a knife safely and responsibly. College of Boy Scouting Course Number Course Title Course Description A fundamental teaching tool for our Scouts is to have them plan and BS300 Activity and Event Planning lead the troop’s activities. This course will give you some planning aids to ensure that your Scouts are prepared.

Just as Cub Scouts like to roast marshmallows, older boys also enjoy BS302 Campfire Program Ideas relaxing around a campfire to hear stories, tell some jokes and maybe sing some funny songs. This course will give you some ideas on how to add some sparkle to your evening campfires. How do you keep your Life and Eagle Scouts active in the troop? Challenging and Retaining BS303 What are older Scouts looking for? Discover ways to keep your Older Scouts experienced Scouts involved. (2 Sessions)

Developing the Annual Most troops put together a general plan of events and activities BS304 Program each year. How can you make this planning meeting more efficient and develop a program that meets everyone’s needs? Just as Cub Scouts remember exciting pack meetings, so will your BS305 Exciting Courts of Honor . Get someideas for your Scout leaders to make their ceremonies more impressive and memorable.

BS306 Life to Eagle Process This course will present the fundamentals of the process and offer ideas for mentoring your Life Scouts to Eagle. (2 Sessions) Merit Badge Counselor Learn how to expand your current pool of merit badge instructors BS307 Recruiting & Orientation and give them the tools to succeed.

Hazardous weather can surprise even the most avid outdoorsman. BS308 Mountain Meteorology Learn how to identify some of the tell‐tale signs of imminent weather while enjoying the outdoors. (2 Sessions) Introduction to the Order of BS309 With this course you’ll get a much better understanding of the Boy the Arrow Scouts honor societyand how it can really help your unit thrive.

Learn (or refresh) some of the techniques to using maps, BS310 Orienteering & Geocaching compasses, and orienteering. The course also offers an opportunity to learn more about GPS and geocaching. It will give you the confidence to teach your Scouts some very important skills. Parents that were once active with their son as a Cub may struggle BS311 Parents Roles in a Troop to find their place in a troop. Get some ideas on how to get (and keep) these valuable resources involved. In addition to formal troop Leader Training and National Youth BS312 Training Youth to be Leaders Leader Training, learn how every adult can give boys the tools needed to lead others. (2 Sessions) It’s well documented that Scouts that make 1st Class in their first BS313 Scout to 1st Class in 12‐mos year are more likely to make Eagle. This course will help you develop a troop program to help them get there.

Once a Scout has finished the requirements to advance in rank, he BS314 Scoutmaster Conferences faces a couple more hurdles before the Court of Honor. Learn how the SM conference can really inspire and motivate a Scout to continue. They can also do just the opposite… There is so much information now available via the web that it’s simply overwhelming. This course will discuss some of the resources BS315 Troop Resources /Admin available on the web as well as through the Council and local organizations. Once a Scout has finished his SM conference, he faces one more hurdle before the Court of Honor. Learn how the Boards of Review BS316 Boards of Review can really inspire and motivate a Scout to continue.
