AN ANALYSIS OF SLANG LANGUAGE RELATED TO SEX IN RAP SONGS LYRICS

Keyword : ANALYSIS, LANGUAGE, SONG ABSTRACT : Slang can be described as informal, nonstandard words or phrases tend to originate in subcultures within society. The use of slang is various. Slang language had been used by musicians especially Rap Music. That is why the writer focused in the research to the use of slang language in the lyrics of Rap songs. The aims of this research are to describe the slang words that are used in Eminems Rap Songs Lyrics related to sex. And to determine the slang meanings of those slang words and analyzed them to see their relation to sex. The writer uses a descriptive qualitative method. In getting the theory, the writer uses library research. The writer uses some books related to the topic to help the writer in finding the things, which can help the writer in discussing and explaining about the study. The writer also browses to the Internet to get the theory related to sex. This method explained and described the slang language related to sex. The samples of this research are taken from six albums of , which are Slim Shady LP (1999), The Marshall Mathers LP (2000), (2002), Straight From The Lab EP (2003), Encore (2004), and Certain Calls (2005). The source of the data consists of two songs taken from the album Slim Shady LP, three songs taken from the album Marshall Matrhers LP, one songs taken from the album The Eminem Show, Straight From The Lab EP, and Encore, three songs taken from the album Curtain Calls. To get the data, the writer identified the lyrics of songs, which related to sex. Through the result of the research, the writer finds out that the terms such as: fag, lez, and hermaph have a slang meaning as kinds of sexual perversion. The terms such as: asss, butt, and bush have a slang meaning as kinds of sexual attraction. Meanwhile the terms such as: asshole, slut, and hos have a slang meaning as kinds of gender identity sexuality. All these terms have a slang meaning as the terms related to sex.
