It is important that Year 12 students have submitted and paid for their TISC and interstate applications as the closing dates are fast approaching. Please note that Notre Dame applications are due on 27 September and TISC applications are due 30 September. If any student needs assistance with her applications please make an appointment to see me. Year 12s can email me to make an appointment during their exam break if required.

There are many interesting information sessions occurring at the different universities that Year 10 and 11 students might like to attend to research their study and career options for the future.

1 Construction Futures Open Day

The CTF will be holding an Open Day to the public at the Construction Futures Centre during the upcoming school holidays. The open day will be held on Tuesday 1 October 2019. Sessions start at 9.00am and 11.00am. Each session will run for 1 ½ hours.

ECU ATAR Revision Sessions

ECU is pleased to offer ATAR Revision Sessions as a service to Year 12 high school students. These sessions are suitable for students who are seeking additional support to prepare for the upcoming examinations by attending an additional seminar to complement their existing study program.

Each ATAR subject generally includes a four-hour revision seminar covering the Year 12 syllabus per subject, examination techniques and hints specific to the revision subject, a question and answer session, and a copy of revision notes.

Please register here for all ATAR Revision Sessions that are being held at ECU Joondalup that you wish to attend. You will receive a confirmation for the session/s you have selected.

It is essential that the registration is completed by the student and not the parent or teacher.

Exam Prep Program – Mastermind Australia

Some residential colleges can be competitive, so it’s important to apply early and sometimes to apply to multiple colleges (please be aware of the fees to apply). 4 Scholarships

All Year 11s and 12s who plan to go to university or TAFE should register for scholarship emails from: • the Good Universities Guide and from • Curtin University Scholarships. Both provide information about a wide range of scholarships and about financial support available to students going to TAFE and university. UWA Scholarships The University of offers scholarships to assist in areas of merit, financial need, remoteness from the University, disability and educational disadvantage. Find out more HERE. CQU Scholarships The CQU scholarships can be found HERE. Curtin Scholarships There are pages of Curtin scholarships HERE. Murdoch Scholarships Murdoch has a VC (Vice Chancellor) Development Fund that students can tap into if they want to take studies in addition to their course. This could help to pay for plane fares and accommodation at a conference, for example. To see the range of Murdoch scholarships go HERE. TAFE 2020 Applications Open

If you are considering applying for a TAFE course in 2020 please apply online through: tasonline.tafe.wa.edu.au

TISC Applications

TISC applications are due by Monday 30 September, 11.00pm. This is the on-time closing date for most courses. You can still apply after this date but will have to pay a higher application fee.

Medicine Applications Final closing date for Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Curtin and for Direct Pathway Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy at UWA is Monday 30 September. You can't apply for the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Curtin, or Direct Pathway place into Medicine, Dentistry or Pharmacy at UWA after 30 September, 2019. However, you can still change the order of existing Curtin Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and UWA Direct Pathway Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy preferences on your preference list.

ECU/WAAPA Courses 30 September, 2019, midnight, is the recommended closing date for lodging a separate application directly to ECU for the scheduling of an audition or interview for the following courses: • Bachelor of Arts (Arts Management) • Bachelor of Music • Bachelor of Education (Secondary) – Music Education Major • Bachelor of Performing Arts – Performance Making Major
