Mike answered the question “what would I do if I were lost in a forest?” I realize I am surrounded by trees with leaves. I have no cell phone. (It is hypothetical after all). I want to get back to my party as I am hungry, lost, and alone. I look up, the sun is at 45 degrees. I walk in its direction and see some pathways. I am in luck. I walk on the widest path. I scream “here I am, here I am!” I come to a field and listen for signs. I hear some faint noise. I yell “get me out of here!” I hear a gunshot and see a bird fall. I wave my shirt and yell “don’t shoot, don’t shoot!” Then I remember what a hunter told me about pheasant hunting and I estimate at what distance away the shot was made. I see a marksman. I know that he should hear me. I drop down and watch him leave and after some time, walk in that direction. I come to a two-lane blacktop road
