In the summer of 2009, Dr. James Marshall, of Rockford College in Illinois, began a banding study of the vineyards on North Bass Island with his summer classes at Stone Lab. Dr. Marshall is a sub-permittee of mine and has used my bands during the study. I assisted when I could as it is always great to get to North Bass Island. In 2020 and 2021, Stone Lab closed due to COVID-19, so no banding was to take place. In talking with my banding assistants on South Bass and Middle Bass, we thought it would be interesting to attempt to band on North Bass Island at some point in the spring migration.
