ANNOUNCES THE FALL TOUR OF HOBO JOHNSON KICKING OFF OCTOBER 9TH IN SEATTLE, WA - TICKETS ON SALE JUNE 28

June 21, 2019 (, CA) - Following an electrifying at last weekend's Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Tennessee, Sacramento artist Hobo Johnson has released an explosive new song and video for “Typical Story” on Reprise Records / Warner Records. The visual is set in a mansion where Hobo and The Lovemakers, manic partygoers and a motley crew of characters in various costumes bring to life Hobo’s absurdist vision of a house party. The visual displays his remarkable ability to harness lightning in a bottle and is a harbinger for more to come.

"'Typical Story' is one of the songs on the that came together pretty quickly," said Hobo. "I think people will see it as an evolution. I’m really proud of it. If I had to describe what it sounds like to me, it’s like if you took the cream that rises to the top and then let that cream sit and rise to the top and separated it again and then let that cream rise to the top and you scooped up that goodness...it sounds a bit like that final layer of cream once you turn it all the way up.”

When speaking on the video, Hobo described it as, "my somewhat surrealist view of a Los Angeles pool party, which I have never got invited to."

"Typical Story" arrives with the announcement of The Fall Tour of Hobo Johnson starting on October 9th in Seattle, WA and capping off with a hometown show in Sacramento on November 29th (full dates below). Tickets are available June 28th at 10am at www.hobojohnson.com. The song also marks the first music from Hobo since his self-released 2017 debut album The Rise of Hobo Johnson. Since then, he has toured all over the world with his band The Lovemakers, playing sold-out shows and festivals, including Outside Lands, Riot Fest, Made In America, Bumbershoot, Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival and Australia's The Falls Music & Arts Festival and Field Day Festival.

Check out the new video and don’t miss Hobo Johnson and The Lovemakers live on tour this fall!

ABOUT HOBO JOHNSON: Hailing from Sacramento, CA, artist Frank Lopes, who cultivated the moniker Hobo Johnson after being kicked out of his parents' house and left to live in his '94 Corolla, is propelling his way to the top. The half Azorean Portuguese, quarter Mexican and Native American vocalist built a grassroots following via viral homegrown style videos showcasing his singularity; an amalgamation of spoken word poetry, punk, folk and rap backed by his band The Lovemakers. Hobo’s momentum reached a tipping point after gaining feverish interest through his entry in NPR’s "Tiny Desk" Contest, which went viral(25 million streams to date) despite not winning. Bursting with unadulterated sincerity, his genre- defying sound feels akin to musical anomalies of the past and future. 2017 saw Hobo Johnson's self-released debut album The Rise of Hobo Johnson, selling out shows everywhere and amassing over 65 million cumulative U.S. streams.
