About Audrey Audrey's favorite things are an old pair of broken-in boots and blue jeans, fresh cut flowers, glitter, and all things leopard print. She can be found chasing after her two daughters, painting late at night, running a few miles here and there, doing a little traveling, hosting some parties, and whipping up some fun things in the kitchen. An elementary school teacher by day, Audrey spends her free time as an artist, writer, and the owner of Alexander Hood Art. Originally from Winston-Salem, NC, Audrey lives in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte with her husband Chris and their two daughters, Kennedy and Charlotte. After graduating from Salem College in 2007, Audrey earned a dual-masters degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Liberty University. Highlights about DreamChaser's Brewery The journey began five years ago, when Neil Gimon looked at the positions he had with some of the largest companies and decided to work to be in control of his own destiny. After being a home brewer for over 20 years and winning awards as well as thumbs up from people that drank his beer, Neil looked at the growing craft beer movement and thought there are great breweries up in Charlotte, but nothing down here in Waxhaw. After sharing his idea with his wife, Anita, they began to plan out the brewery, listening to advice from other brewery owners, as well as Neil taking classes for the International Brewery and Distillery test. They both centered on Waxhaw as the place for the brewery. Both loved the town, as well as the history. It took them a year and a half to find the perfect location. Right on Main Street of Waxhaw, in the old Volunteer Fire Department building. It was perfectly located, and had a floor that was eight inches thick concrete, enough to support several fire engines, or a 10 Barrel Brewery! While Neil was a talented brewer, he did not have the experience to brew on a large scale. Enter Master Brewer Skyler Lachenmayr. Skyler had recently graduated from the Niagara School of Brewing, and for his final project, developed a recipe that won him a national brewing award in Canada, The Golden Boot. He and his wife moved to the Waxhaw area to take the recipes that Neil had developed and transform them from a 10 gallon batch to a 10 Barrel Batch.
