Document: Introduction to MLDT Tribal Community Health Centre Vikramgad Block (A unit of the Dr. M. L. Dhawale Memorial Trust) 1. Background of the Dr. M. L. Dhawale Memorial Trust (MLDT) The Dr M L Dhawale Memorial Trust was established in 1987, after the untimely demise of Dr. M. L. Dhawale, an M.D who was a practicing Homoeopath. His students and patients to fulfil his vision of service to Humanity through the spread of Scientific and Standardised Homoeopathy established the Trust. The Mission of the Trust is: “Excellence in Integrated Homoeopathic Medical Care, Education, & Research in order to promote “Positive Health” in a cost effective manner. The Trust strives to reach positive health to the masses – health, which is not mere absence of disease, but a vibrant sense of wellbeing. This it does through the chief treatment modality of Homoeopathy, since Homoeopathy seeks not only to cure the illness but to also restore health and promote its practice. For last 28 years the trust has been actively working with this mission of Positive Health from its six centres through 12 rural clinics, 14 urban clinics and 5 hospitals. Through these institutions, the Trust treats more than 100,000 patients per year, most of them from the marginalized sections of society. The Trust’s thrust has always been to identify pockets underserved by the Government machinery or by other institutions and serve them. Be it the tribal population in backward districts of the state, rural population or slum communities in the urban neighborhoods. While serving the community, the Trust has always emphasized on the necessity for providing quality care and has exploited every opportunity to research the efficacy of homoeopathy on prevailing ailments.

  • Assessment of Level of Development in Jawahar, Mokhada, Vikramgad and Vada Tahsil of Rural Thane District, Maharashtra State India
IOSR Journal Of Humanities And Social Science (IOSR-JHSS) Volume 19, Issue 9, Ver. VII (Sep. 2014), PP 52-57 e-ISSN: 2279-0837, p-ISSN: 2279-0845. www.iosrjournals.org Assessment of Level of Development in Jawahar, Mokhada, Vikramgad and Vada Tahsil of Rural Thane District, Maharashtra State India. Rajendra S. Suryawanshi Associate Professor, Department of Geography, MES Abasaheb Garware College, University of Pune, Pune Maharashtra, India Abstract: The present research paper is an attempt to analyse the level of development in Jawahar, Mokhada, Vikramgad and Vada tahsils of rural Thane district, of Maharashtra. The research is an outcome of primary and secondary data, largely government and non government publications for preparing social and economic profile of the study area. Besides this, a topographical map is used for the physiographic profile. Further, GIS based composite Index has been prepared for all the physical, demographic, social and economic variables by denoting score of 1-5. The lowest score indicates less development and the highest score indicates high development. This has enabled to analyze the regional disparity lucidly. Based on the secondary data collection at village level, the study shows that the disparity increases from the Southwest to Northeast and majority of the settlement indicate low to very low status of development. Those administrative units that suffer in socio- economic development i.e. lack of transport connectivity, health and low literacy levels, coupled with topographical constraints have shown low scores. These tashils are industrially backward, economically underdeveloped and socially isolated and therefore majority of the settlements of these tehsils show low level development.

  • Refurbishment of Anganwadi Centres
STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE FOR REFURBISHMENT OF ANGANWADI CENTRES STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE FOR REFURBISHMENT OF ANGANWADI CENTRES Office of the Commissioner of Integrated Child Development Service Scheme Maharashtra State INDRA MALLO IAS (Women & Child Development Department) COMMISSIONER Raigad Bhavan, CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai Date: 21st July 2020 FOREWORD Nutrition, specifically mother and child nutrition is of utmost significance in realizing the goals of a healthy new India. An India where children are provided with equal opportunity to grow and succeed, and ultimately contribute to the forward march of the country. The Integrated Child Development Services is an essential component of realizing that objective. In the recent past, efforts have been made to improve and optimize service delivery and this has been captured in Niti Aayog’s ‘Strategy for New India at 75’ report as well. In this respect, Maharashtra has strived to stand out as an exemplar to the country and other states in the manner in which it executes and drives the program. A key component of the program is to have well-functioning Anganwadi centres, which act as a pivot around which the entire program functions. Infrastructure of these centres especially in areas such as refurbishment, flooring, roofing, and kitchen and sanitation facilities is thus of prime importance. Recognizing this, the Tata Trusts have played a commendable role in the targeted improvement of these areas. Starting 2017, they have sought to improve infrastructural indicators in Palghar district of Maharashtra. This document, which seeks to act as a standard operating procedure, is an invaluable source that will enrich other organizations – whether within government, or outside of it, who seek to do similar things.
