January, 20- On January 20th, we welcomed a group of ex-students of La Salle here in Nabawan. They are teacher(Lourdes Mary Batin), lawyer(Ram Singh), pilot (Robert Jomiji) and nurse(Dymphna Ubing).

They were here to give motivational and career talk to our boarders. During the talk session, our boarders have the opportunity to ask questions on how to become a pilot, nurse, teacher and lawyer.

We welcome Mr Simon Lim and Mr Justin Guloi as the new members of DLSB board of management. Mr Simon Lim is our new treasurer. Both of them are retired Justin Fuk Guloi Simon Lim teachers.

7th Malaysian Lasallian Educators March 18-21, 2018- The 7th MaLec 2018 was held on Conference(MaLEC) March 18 to 21, 2018 at the Palm Hotel . The organisers were the Regional Lasallian Education Council(South) in collaboration with St Paul Institution Primary and Secondary and the Old Paulians’s Association. Two of our DLSB staff attended the conference. Congratulations to one of our board members, Mr Simon Lim as he was awarded The Long And Dedicated Service by the De La Salle Brother. He was a teacher at SM La Salle from 7 January 1980 to August 1, 1988 and as a headmaster of Sk Sacred Heart Kota Kinabalu from July 16, 2003 to November 17, 2017.

March, 31- Our former boarders, Erna Yusten was back to visit DLSB. She brought along his husband to show around her beloved alma mater. They also donated food to DLSB. She is a former boarder of Asrama Butitin back in 1998.

April Sabah Credit paid a visit to DLSB

April, 4 2018- Sabah Credit branch manager Ronie Yong and his officer visited DLSB. The purpose of their visit is to inspect the site to construct a new building. Sabah Credit will be sponsoring a new block of building for DLSB. ` April

April, 20- A Marists Brother, Brother Paul Ching Sun Nam was assigned to DLSB. He is from bukit Mertajam, . Br. Paul, 69 years old was a former chemistry teacher. Before assigned to DLSB Nabawan, he was helping at the Catholic High School in Singapore for five years.

Paid a visit to Mdm Stella from KKD St Augustine Sandapak April, 24 - Brother and staff of DLSB paid a visit to Mdm Stella Edwin at her residence in Sandapak, Bingkor. Mdm Stella, a retired nurse, is presently the Chairman of KKD St. Augustine Sandapak who visited DLSB with her team and donated goodies to the boarders. ` May Festival and Founder’s Day Celebration In May, we celebrated two important events. On May 15, we celebrate Founder’s Day known as the Solemnity of St. John Baptist De La Salle. It’s a day to reflect on the rich history of the Lasallian mission and celebrate the man whose vision and dedication to providing a human and Christian education to the young, especially the poor. A special prayer service together with the boarders and staff was conducted near the La Salle Statue.

On May 31st, is the Harvest Festival or Pesta Kaamatan DLSB Board Meeting celebrated by the Kadazandusuns and Murut in Sabah. In conjunction with these two important events, a joint celebration has been organised on May 26th, 2018(Saturday). 2nd Borneo Lasallian Youth Convention June 19-22, 2018- Lasallians from all over Borneo gathered for the 2nd Borneo Lasallian Youth Convention at La Salle Kota Kinabalu. The theme for this year’s convention is Lasallians Beyond Boundaries.

10 selected boarders of DLSB attended the 2nd Borneo Lasallian Youth Convention.

Before going back to Nabawan, we brought the students to the State Museum. Most of these students are first timers.
