New BMR Director: Originally from West Cornwall, I met my wife (originally from Jack Parsons Somerset) at Morebattle Tofts thanks to a joint 21st and 50th Playfair party. We now have two children, a boy aged 5 and girl aged 3 and another due in May. I graduated from Harper Adams in 2008 and moved to with Farmcare as a trainee manager. In 2010 we moved to the Co-ops’ estate near Goole, East Yorkshire, where I started as assistant manager and was then promoted to manager in 2011. We moved back to Scotland, to Mertoun, in June 2015 as farm manager to take over from Charlie Stewart who was retiring after 33 years here. We are cropping 1,800ha of winter wheat, barley, oats, OSR and seed potatoes and grow vining peas for SBP. There is plenty going on at Mertoun as we work towards the next 33 years of sustainable agriculture (and beyond)!
