SITUATION REPORT

Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “TITLI” Date: 11.10.2018, 3.30 PM The Very Severe Cyclonic Storm 'TITLI' crossed north Andhra Pradesh south coast near 18.80 N and 84.50 E (near Palasa, Srikakulam district) to the southwest of Gopalpur, as a very severe cyclonic storm with estimated maximum sustained surface wind speed of 140-150 kmph gusting to 165 kmph between 0430 and 0530 hours IST of today, the 11th October 2018. Gopalpur recorded 126 kmph wind speed at 0430 hrs IST of 11th October. Present Status: The Very Severe Cyclone Storm "TITLI" over north Coastal Andhra Pradesh & adjoining south Odisha moved west-northwestwards with a speed of about 13 kmph during past 06 hours and lay centred at 0830 hrs 1ST of today, the 11th October 2018 over south Odisha near latitude 19.0°N and longitude 84.1°E, about 90 km west-southwest of Gopalpur and 60 km south-southeast of . It is very likely to move northwestwards for next 12 hours and then re-curve northeastwards towards Gangatic West Bengal across Odisha. It is very likely to weaken gradually becoming severe cyclonic storm around noon, cyclonic storm around evening and a deep depression by mid-night of today, the 11th October 2018.

Rainfall:  Heavy Rainfall experienced in Gajapai district which has received average rainfall of 228.4 mm on 11.10.2018  Other districts namely - Average rainfall of 123.2 mm, - 114.8 mm, - 102.1 mm  Some Blocks received more than 200 mm rainfall (Mohana – 315.0mm, R. Udayagiri- 223.8 mm, - 213.6 mm, Ersama- 210.0mm)

Evacuation:  Around 3,00,000 people have been evacuated.  1112 relief camps have been opened for the evacuees in the shelters.  105 Pregnant women in Ganjam & 18 in Jgatsinghpur have been shifted to Hospitals.

Deployment of Response Forces:  Thirteen NDRF teams deployed ( Gajapati – 3 Teams, -2 teams, 1 team each in Ganjam, Kendrapada, , , Jagatsingjpur, Balasore, and districts).  ODRAF teams deployed in 11 districts (Gajapati, , Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, , , Balasore, Mayurbhanj, and Kalahandi).  Fire services teams have been engaged.

1. Gajapati :

 Heavy rain experienced  Electricity disrupted due to falling of trees.  Road communication disrupted due to falling of trees.

Action Taken

 Fire Service Team & NDRF team engaged in cutting of trees for road clearance.  Mohana Fire Station is clearing road from Chandiput to Chandragiri in Gajapti where more than 14 big trees have got uprooted.

2. Ganjam :

 Damage of thatched & asbestos house, Street lights, roads blockage due to falling of trees, is reported in Ganjam District.  Further, minor damage to power and communication have also been reported in Ganjam district.

Action Taken:

 Gopalpur Road, Town road , medical college internal roads, Hinjili Seragada SH cleared . All most all important roads cleared in the district.

3. Rayagada :

 Trees have fallen in some places causing road blocks.

Action Taken:

 Free kitchen provided to 500 people at Town Hall,  Polythene have been distributed to the people whose houses are damaged  Fire Services deployed to the affected areas.  Road clearing is going on.

4. Puri :  No. of Blocks Affected- 6 ( Astaranga, Brahmagiri, Gop, Kaskatpur, Krushnaprasad, Puri Sadar)  No. of ULB Affected- 2( NAC, Puri Municipality)  Population Affected- 20707  No. of Houses Damaged- 38 Action Taken:

 Cooked food & Chuda have been provided to 15798 persons  No. of Relief Camps Opened- 62

The situation is being closely monitored at different level.

 The Chief Secretary reviewed the situation at 11.00AM on 11.10.2018  Hon’ble CM reviewed the situation at 11.45 AM on 11.10.2018
